It is sad to note that Igbo Language and Culture, which recorded modest gain in the past, has been in limbo since the death of its founder and foremost exponent, F.C. Ogbalu, in 1989. Let me borrow the words of Jawaharlal Nehru in rounding off this forward: "A language is something infinitely greater than grammar and philology. It is the poetic testament of a race and culture and the living embodiment of the thoughts and fancies that molded them." This Igbo book is worth reading for every Igbo student and lovers of Igbo culture. The authors of "Suo Asusu Igbo Taa" are highly commended for taking Igbo people back to basics, a foundation which is important for the true understanding of the language.
