This book describes how manufacturing enterprises, by reinforcing their existing monitoring and control of manufacturing processes, can successfully face the ever-increasing pressure from internal and external environments to maintain their competitive advantage. Numerous performance measurement systems have been elaborated to satisfy these requirements, stressing the importance of financial and operational metrics. It also highlights the fact that research on generating and linking financial and operational metrics, especially in real-time, has not garnered sufficient attention to date. The book follows an approach that integrates enterprises across different levels and departments. By computing and linking the financial and operational metrics in real-time, the book demonstrates how to provide a comprehensive view of an entire enterprise.

"Vivek Kale has written a great book on performance management that focuses on decision-making; on continuous, incremental improvement; and on identifying common patterns in becoming a more intelligent organization." —James Taylor, CEO of Decision Management Solutions and author of Real-World Decision Modeling with DMN "Introducing the concepts of decision patterns and performance intelligence, Vivek Kale has written another important book on the issues faced by contemporary organizations."—Gary Cokins, author of Predictive Business Analytics and Performance Management: Integrating Strategy Execution, Methodologies, Risk, and Analytics Enterprise Performance Intelligence and Decision Patterns unravels the mystery of enterprise performance intelligence (EPI) and explains how it can transform the operating context of business enterprises. It provides a clear understanding of what EPI means, what it can do, and application areas where it is practical to use. The need to be responsive to evolving customer needs and desires creates organizational structures where business intelligence (BI) and decision making is pushed out to operating units that are closest to the scene of the action. Closed-loop decision making resulting from a combination of on-going performance management with on-going BI can lead to an effective responsive enterprise; hence, the need for performance intelligence (PI). This pragmatic book: Introduces the technologies such as data warehousing, data mining, analytics, and business intelligence systems that are a first step toward enabling data-driven enterprises. Details decision patterns and performance decision patterns that pave the road for performance intelligence applications. Introduces the concepts, principles, and technologies related to performance measurement systems. Describes the concepts and principles related to balance scorecard systems (BCS). Introduces aspects of performance intelligence for the real-time enterprises. Enterprise Performance Intelligence and Decision Patterns shows how a company can design and implement instruments ranging from decision patterns to PI systems that can enable continuous correction of business unit behavior so companies can enhance levels of productivity and profitability.

Artificial Intelligence Enabled Digital Twin For Smart Manufacturing written by Amit Kumar Tyagi and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-10-15 with Computers categories.
An essential book on the applications of AI and digital twin technology in the smart manufacturing sector. In the rapidly evolving landscape of modern manufacturing, the integration of cutting-edge technologies has become imperative for businesses to remain competitive and adaptive. Among these technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as a transformative force, revolutionizing traditional manufacturing processes and making the way for the era of smart manufacturing. At the heart of this technological revolution lies the concept of the Digital Twin—an innovative approach that bridges the physical and digital realms of manufacturing. By creating a virtual representation of physical assets, processes, and systems, organizations can gain unprecedented insights, optimize operations, and enhance decision-making capabilities. This timely book explores the convergence of AI and Digital Twin technologies to empower smart manufacturing initiatives. Through a comprehensive examination of principles, methodologies, and practical applications, it explains the transformative potential of AI-enabled Digital Twins across various facets of the manufacturing lifecycle. From design and prototyping to production and maintenance, AI-enabled Digital Twins offer multifaceted advantages that redefine traditional paradigms. By leveraging AI algorithms for data analysis, predictive modeling, and autonomous optimization, manufacturers can achieve unparalleled levels of efficiency, quality, and agility. This book explains how AI enhances the capabilities of Digital Twins by creating a powerful tool that can optimize production processes, improve product quality, and streamline operations. Note that the Digital Twin in this context is a virtual representation of a physical manufacturing system, including machines, processes, and products. It continuously collects real-time data from sensors and other sources, allowing it to mirror the physical system’s behavior and performance. What sets this Digital Twin apart is the incorporation of AI algorithms and machine learning techniques that enable it to analyze and predict outcomes, recommend improvements, and autonomously make adjustments to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This book outlines essential elements, like real-time monitoring of machines, predictive analytics of machines and data, optimization of the resources, quality control of the product, resource management, decision support (timely or quickly accurate decisions). Moreover, this book elucidates the symbiotic relationship between AI and Digital Twins, highlighting how AI augments the capabilities of Digital Twins by infusing them with intelligence, adaptability, and autonomy. Hence, this book promises to enhance competitiveness, reduce operational costs, and facilitate innovation in the manufacturing industry. By harnessing AI’s capabilities in conjunction with Digital Twins, manufacturers can achieve a more agile and responsive production environment, ultimately driving the evolution of smart factories and Industry 4.0/5.0. Audience This book has a wide audience in computer science, artificial intelligence, and manufacturing engineering, as well as engineers in a variety of industrial manufacturing industries. It will also appeal to economists and policymakers working on the circular economy, clean tech investors, industrial decision-makers, and environmental professionals.

Software Product Lines written by Gary J. Chastek and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-08-02 with Business & Economics categories.
Software product lines are emerging as an important new paradigm for so- ware development. Product lines are enabling organizations to achieve impressive time-to-market gains and cost reductions. In 1997, we at the Software Engine- ing Institute (SEI) launched a Product Line Practice Initiative. Our vision was that product line development would be a low-risk, high-return proposition for the entire software engineering community. It was our hope from the beginning that there would eventually be su?cient interest to hold a conference. The First Software Product Line Conference (SPLC1) was the realization of that hope. Since SPLC1, we have seen a growing interest in software product lines. Companies are launching their own software product line initiatives, product line technical and business practices are maturing, product line tool vendors are emerging, and books on product lines are being published. Motivated by the enthusiastic response to SPLC1 and the increasing number of software product lines and product line researchers and practitioners, the SEI is proud to sponsor this second conference dedicated to software product lines. We were grati?ed by the submissions to SPLC2 from all parts of the globe, from government and commercial organizations. From these submissions we were able to assemble a rich and varied conference program with unique opportunities for software product line novices, experts, and those in between. This collection represents the papers selected from that response and includes research and experience reports.
