In this book, you're going to read about a different kind of love story. It's a love story each and every one of us is currently playing a role in--whether we're aware of it or not. And truth be told, it's scary-critical that we stay tuned-in to this love story. Because outside of a growing relationship with your heavenly Father, no other love (or lack of love) has the potential to improve or implode your life like the love that you have for you. For anyone who has ever struggled with their identity, Landra Young Hughes has a radically simple message: give up. Specifically, give up your need to be in control of how other people see you. Instead, let God's words--not yours and not others'--define you. Through her own deeply personal story of trying to control her circumstances and others' perceptions of her through an eating disorder, Landra points the way toward a life free from self-obsession and self-resentment. She shows you how to listen to God's voice, let go of the struggle for perfection, and live authentically from your deepest self.

have great pleasure in writing this foreword to Dr. Latane’s book on the Novels of William Boyd. The book is a significant contribution to Boyd criticism. It has discussed the early, the middle and the last phase of Boyd’s novels. In doing if the author has defined the totality of Boyd’s vision. Indeed every novel is a part of this totality and the totality is more than a mere sum of the novels. The reciprocal relationship between the part and the whole is the crux of novel-criticism and the book has given due justice to this aspect. Another important feature of the book is the analysis of the postmodernist element in Boyd’s novels. This critical framework can be used to analysis the postmodernist element in the contemporary Indian novel in English. Even going further it can be used to analyse the Postmodernist element in the contemporary Marathi novel. A thesis is really acknowledged when it become a source material for the future researchers and comparatives. Mr. Latane’s book has that potential. I heartily wish a good reception to the book. The Presidents of American Fiction brings together American literature, history, and political science to explore the most influential fictionalized accounts of the presidency from the early 19th century to the time of Trump. Of late, popular understandings of the presidency are being radically re-written-consider, for example, the distinctive myths that accompanied the ascent of the Obama and Trump administrations-and many readers of all stripes are radically reimagining the office and its holder. Placing these changes within a broader cultural context, Michael J. Blouin investigates narratives involving fictional presidents, from the supposedly factual to the outright fantastical, within their distinct literary and historical moments. The author considers representative texts including works penned by James Fenimore Cooper from the Jacksonian moment, Gore Vidal in the age of Nixon and Vietnam, and Philip Roth in the neoliberal period. Through detailed readings that question how American presidents function as characters within the popular imagination, this book examines the presidency as a complex, ever-evolving trope, and in so doing enhances our appreciation of American literature's inextricable link with American politics.
