A Sharecropper's Son Turns His Dreams into Reality a story of faith and strength A young boy that recovered from double pneumonia whose young life was difficult on the farm, received encouragements from his mother and was told that God saved him to do something special with his life. He left the farm at a young age due to economic pressure caused by the Great Depression. He had various jobs and finally received his high school diploma while working and going to evening school. His final job was in a foundry and was frozen in industry during WW II. Then enrolling in The Ohio State University and graduated as a metallurgical engineer with honors. Started to work in the private industry and became a successful metallurgical engineer and felt that God was always on his side. His contribution to the metals field continued as the author of 15 patents. He was also involved with the local Boy Scouts by forming a special explorer post to educate young people to the field of metals and was honored by receiving the Silver Beaver award. The story shows that with God in his heart he never gave up even so the circumstances were often quite frustrating and difficult.
