Psychic and medium Christine Holohan tells how she helped solve the murder case that rocked the police, giving vital evidence that science would only catch up with 2 years later. A Voice From the Grave tells the chilling real-life story of a woman haunted by horrific visions of the death of Jacqui Poole in 1983. From her first encounter with Jacqui Poole's spirit through interviews with police and subsequent discoveries, Christine's story demonstrates that it is never too late for justice and makes a wholly compelling argument for life after death and the spirit world.

The dawning of peace in Northern Ireland has not brought with it much truth about what happened during ‘the long war'. Very few of the paramilitary leaders on either side have ever spoken candidly about their role in that bloody conflict. But here, in a dramatic break with the unwritten laws of paramilitary omertà, two leading figures from opposing sides reveal their involvement in bombings, shootings and killings and speak frankly about how differently their wars came to an end. Brendan Hughes was a legend in the Republican movement. An ‘operator', a gun-runner and mastermind of some of the most savage IRA violence of the Troubles, he was a friend and close ally of Gerry Adams and was by his side during the most brutal years of the conflict. David Ervine was the most substantial political figure to emerge from the world of Loyalist paramilitaries. A former Ulster Volunteer Force bomber and confidante of its long-time leader Gusty Spence, Ervine helped steer Loyalism's gunmen towards peace, persuading the UVF's leaders to target IRA and Sinn Fein activists and push them down the road to a ceasefire. In extensive interviews given to researchers from Boston College on condition that their stories be kept secret until after their deaths, these men spoke with astonishing openness about their turbulent, violent lives. Now their stories have been woven into a vivid narrative which provides compelling insight into a secret world and events long hidden from history. Voices from the Grave is the inaugural publication. of the Boston College IRA/UVF Oral History Project of which Professor Thomas E. Hachey and Dr Robert O'Neill are the General Editors.

How often have you wished that things could have been different in your life, that you would have taken advantage of some positive life-altering opportunities, but because of shame and embarrassment, you just settled for whatever was thrown your way, even when God strategically placed certain people in your life with words of wisdom to encourage you. But . . . because you wanted a quick fix, your problems spiraled out of control and the results were one disaster after the other. That still small voice that soothingly speaks positive and loving words into your ear should never be ignored, for there is a great deal of truth in the old cliche that says Experience is the best teacher. I, Wanda, was afforded an opportunity that many people may never experience. Although much of the hurt and heartache I suffered were the consequences of bad judgments I made. You see, I am no longer here, but I speak from my grave. This is my story; I hope my ending will enhance your beginning.

Looking Outward written by Robert Stroud and has been published by Recipe Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-19 with categories.

Stroud had received permission from the warden at Alcatraz to write a penal history, but bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., balked when they reviewed his manuscript. The top brass hastily created new rules for inmate authors, forbidding the publication of any inmate's work that was obscene, criticized the prison system, or glorified crime. Stroud was transferred in 1959 to the US Federal Medical Prison for chronically ill inmates in Springfield, Missouri, where he died in November, 1963. Martin, the Missouri attorney, was named administrator of Stroud's estate and gained custody of the manuscripts in lieu of compensation for his legal services. Martin tried to hawk the prison history manuscript to publishers, but they expressed little or no interest. "Some said it was too long. Others were afraid of being sued for libel because Stroud wrote about living people -- corrupt prison officials, sadistic guards and brutalized prisoners," Martin said. "Others said no one was interested in the prison system, or that history doesn't sell. Some of the great stories in literature are prison stories. I guess they hadn't read 'The Count of Monte Cristo' or 'The Gulag Archipelago, '" Martin said. Martin insists that Stroud's observations on the U.S. prison system are still relevant today. "I think it's a work of great social value. We're still trying to answer the questions that Stroud raised," he said. "The number of Americans incarcerated is greater than ever before. It costs a lot of money to incarcerate people. What do we get in return for it? Do we get a better person than what went in, or a worse person?"
