'The Wrestling Star: Cheers and Tears' is written in British English and almost proper grammar with some exceptions like slang expressions and idioms. It's 60, 081 words, first person singular narrator, and it's genre is romance, military, based on medical background. Vivian Edwards, the conscript wrestler and the National Champion, wakes up in the ICU, but is unable to get up. He finds himself amputee. He treads on two landmines in a border area lousy with outlaws. A bereaved woman who loses her two sons, Vivian's age, and her husband at the same area, doesn't know how or why they are killed. She grants Vivian a tape recorder to record his story, hoping she'd find an answer to her inquiry. She promises to pay him generously. Vivian remembers, tells his story to a nurse in the hospital and records the events of his life that led him to his current state.'A Wrestling Star: Cheers and Tears' is a story of adversity, wealth, love, and human suffering, demonstrates that life is not a series of happy events. By accepting happiness, we must know and understand that unhappiness is inevitable. The Author:Being a university graduate with three languages, he travelled abroad and worked for the UNESCO for six years during which he was able to visit a lot of countries and befriend many people of different castes, races, cultures, religions and languages. Those friends told him the story of 'The Wrestling Star: Cheers and Tears'. Although on the earth, sometimes his colleagues and he lived in the real Paradise, five-star hotels, fabulous cars... but most of the time they were in the Hell: hunger, fear of insects, wild animals and bandits in addition to the freezing cold or burning heat without any mechanical, electric or electronic device or machine in some historical locations. Nevertheless, one has to be on bended knees in respect for the good and kind local citizens who could bear the abject poverty, biting hunger, illiteracy and isolation but smile and laugh heartily.

The Squared Circle written by David Shoemaker and has been published by Penguin this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-31 with Sports & Recreation categories.

Grantland and Deadspin correspondent presents a breakthrough examination of the professional wrestling, its history, its fans, and its wider cultural impact that does for the sport what Chuck Klosterman did for heavy metal. The Squared Circle grows out of David Shoemaker’s writing for Deadspin, where he started the column “Dead Wrestler of the Week” (which boasts over 1 million page views) -- a feature on the many wrestling superstars who died too young because of the abuse they subject their bodies to -- and his writing for Grantland, where he covers the pro wrestling world, and its place in the pop culture mainstream. Shoemaker’s sportswriting has since struck a nerve with generations of wrestling fans who—like him—grew up worshipping a sport often derided as “fake” in the wider culture. To them, these professional wrestling superstars are not just heroes but an emotional outlet and the lens through which they learned to see the world. Starting in the early 1900s and exploring the path of pro wrestling in America through the present day, The Squared Circle is the first book to acknowledge both the sport’s broader significance and wrestling fans’ keen intellect and sense of irony. Divided into eras, each section offers a snapshot of the wrestling world, profiles some of the period’s preeminent wrestlers, and the sport’s influence on our broader culture. Through the brawling, bombast, and bloodletting, Shoemaker argues that pro wrestling can teach us about the nature of performance, audience, and, yes, art. Full of unknown history, humor, and self-deprecating reminiscence—but also offering a compelling look at the sport’s rightful place in pop culture—The Squared Circle is the book that legions of wrestling fans have been waiting for. In it, Shoemaker teaches us to look past the spandex and body slams to see an art form that can explain the world.
