José Cantón Duarte es doctor en Psicología. Profesor titular de Universidad, imparte su docencia en la Facultad de Psicología de Granada, Departamento de Psicología Evolutiva y de la Educación. Su actividad investigadora se ha centrado en el estudio del desarrollo de niños y adolescentes en contextos de riesgo. Sobre el tema del maltrato infantil ha publicado diversos libros, artículos en revistas científicas y dirigido tesis doctorales. Es miembro de las sociedades internacionales ISPCAN (International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) y AIFREF (Association Internationale de Formation et de Recherche en Education Familiale). M.a Rosario Cortés Arboleda es doctora en Psicología. Profesora asociada de la Universidad de Granada, pertenece al Departamento de Psicología Evolutiva y de la Educación e imparte su docencia en la Facultad de Psicología. Su tesis doctoral versó sobre las consecuencias de los diferentes tipos de maltrato infantil en menores institucionalizados.
