This report presents a cost analysis of Polyacetal Resins (also known as Polyoxymethylene, POM) production starting from methanol and acetic anhydride The process examined is a conventional silver-catalyzed process with methanol recycle, combined with one owned by DuPont for producing the POM. In this process, methanol is converted to Formaldehyde (37wt% solution) over a silver catalyst. The formaldehyde (37wt% solution) is concentrated to a purity higher than 99.9wt% by means of two distillation steps and a treatment step. High purity formaldehyde is then polymerized in an inert cyclohexane medium. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) "Formaldehyde", Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 5th edition (2) "Acetal Resins", Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 5th edition (3) US Patent 2768994, issued to Du Pont in 1956 Keywords: Acetyl resin, polyoxymethylene (POM) resins, polymer of formaldehyde, DuPont, polyformaldehyde, Formalin, silver catalyst, Uhde Inventa Fischer, EMS, formaldehyde solution, incomplete conversion

Chemical And Biological Aspects Of Steroid Conjugation written by S. Bernstein and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-20 with Science categories.

This book represents a collaborative endeavor by a group of investigators to bring together in a single volume a critical discussion of the major facets of our knowledge, ranging from chemical to clinical aspects, of steroid conjugation. However, the important field of bile acid and bile alcohol conjugation has been discussed only superficially since it was decided arbitrarily to be outside the projected scope of the book. The reader is referred to the companion volume of this book, namely Physical Properties of Steroid Conjugates (by Bernstein, Dusza, and Joseph, Springer-Verlag New York 1968), for complemental information on individual conjugates. The Editors wish to thank Miss Elise Kramer for typing assistance. Also we wish to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to Mrs. Dorothy Budd, our copy-editor, and Mr. J.
