Dieses Buch (Schwarz-Weiß Version) ist eine Fortsetzung meiner bisherigen Bücher über die Krebskrankheit GIST (gastrointestinaler Stromatumor). Es beginnt Mitte 2018 und berichtet über die folgenden zwei Jahre bis Mitte 2020. Wegen der auftretenden Nebenwirkungen während der Sutent-Therapie wurden immer wieder und immer längere Therapiepausen eingelegt. Als Folge war dann das CT-Ergebnis im März 2019 katastrophal. Diesmal hatte der GIST die geringe Medikamentendosis des Sutent und die Therapiepausen ausgenutzt. Sowohl in der Leber als auch im Bauchraum gab es neue oder vergrößerte Tumorherde. Zum Glück waren andere Körperbereiche (z.B. Lunge) frei von Metastasen. Laut Radiologen aber würde die Leber innerhalb der nächsten zwei Jahre versagen, wenn nicht eine drastische Verringerung der Leber-Metastasen erfolgt. Wie aber sollte eine Verringerung der Tumorherde erfolgen, wenn das eine Mittel ausgereizt und das andere mehr und mehr unverträglich war? Das war eine niederschmetternde Nachricht. Wie sollte es nun weitergehen? Imatinib (Glivec) hatte seine Wirkung verloren und Sunitinib (Sutent) konnte ich nicht länger ertragen. Vier große Bauchoperationen (Laparotomie) habe ich erfolgreich überstanden und die beiden verfügbaren Standard-GIST-Medikamente Imatinib und Sunitinib hatte ich ausgereizt. Gab es noch eine Chance für mich?
