Las demencias son el principal problema de salud pública a nivel mundial. Según datos de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, cada tres segundos se diagnostica una demencia en todo el mundo. En España las cifras van en aumento superando más de 800.000 casos en la actualidad (diagnosticados). La demencia es un síndrome generado por más de ochenta causas que afectan al cerebro.
