Intelligence In Context written by Robert J. Sternberg and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-11-19 with Psychology categories.
This book reflects on the various ways in which intelligence can manifest itself in the wide range of diverse contexts in which people live. Intelligence is often viewed as being tantamount to a score or set of scores on a decontextualized standardized intelligence test. But intelligence always acts within a sociocultural context. Indeed, early theorists defined intelligence in terms of adaptation to the environment in which one lives. The tradition of decontextualization is old, dating back to the very beginning of the 20th century with the development of the Binet-Simon Intelligence Scales. This tradition is not only old, however, but obsolete. Because people live in different sociocultural as well as physical environments, intelligence can take somewhat different forms in different places and even at different times. The chapters in this edited volume show that intelligence viewed in the abstract is a somewhat vacuous concept - it needs to be contextualized in terms of people’s physical and sociocultural surroundings.

"Rethink & Rewire Your Brain" is a practical and insightful guide to understanding yourself and transforming relationships through Transactional Analysis (TA). This powerful psychological framework, developed by Eric Berne, breaks down human interactions into simple yet profound concepts, helping you decode the patterns behind your behavior and communication. The book introduces you to the three ego states—Parent, Adult, and Child—that govern your thoughts, emotions, and responses. By recognizing which ego state dominates your interactions, you'll gain clarity on why conflicts arise, why certain relationships flourish, and how you can foster healthier, more balanced communication. But this isn't just about theory. The book takes you through real-life examples, practical exercises, and step-by-step strategies to apply these insights in everyday situations. You'll learn how to identify and improve how you communicate, resolve conflicts effectively, and break free from repetitive, unproductive patterns. One of the book's highlights is its focus on life scripts—the unconscious narratives you develop during childhood that shape your decisions and relationships as an adult. By identifying these scripts, you can uncover limiting beliefs and rewrite your story to align with your goals and aspirations. The book also dives into the emotional challenges tied to unbalanced ego states and offers actionable techniques to foster emotional growth. It teaches you how to manage emotions constructively, heal from past wounds, and cultivate a healthier mindset, empowering you to connect with others authentically. Whether you're seeking to improve personal relationships, enhance workplace dynamics, or better understand yourself, this book provides tools that are as effective as they are accessible. Its conversational tone and relatable approach simplify complex psychological concepts and show you how to make them work in your favor. Rethink & Rewire Your Brain is more than just a book about improving communication—it's a roadmap to unlocking your potential, fostering deeper connections, and creating a life driven by self-awareness and emotional intelligence. If you're ready to grow and transform, this guide will show you how to make lasting, meaningful changes.
