Gas Separation by Adsorption Processes provides a thorough discussion of the advancement in gas adsorption process. The book is comprised of eight chapters that emphasize the fundamentals concept and principles. The text first covers the adsorbents and adsorption isotherms, and then proceeds to detailing the equilibrium adsorption of gas mixtures. Next, the book covers rate processes in adsorbers and adsorber dynamics. The next chapter discusses cyclic gas separation processes, and the remaining two chapters cover pressure-swing adsorption. The book will be of great use to students, researchers, and practitioners of disciplines that involve gas separation processes, such as chemical engineering.

Gas Adsorption Equilibria written by Jürgen U. Keller and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-06-23 with Science categories.

This book is intended to present for the first time experimental methods to measure equilibria states of pure and mixed gases being adsorbed on the surface of solid materials. It has been written for engineers and scientists from industry and academia who are interested in adsorption based gas separation processes and/or in using gas adsorption for characterization of the porosity of solid materials. This book is the result of a fruitful collaboration of a theoretician (JUK) and an experimentalist (RS) over more than twelve years in the field of gas adsorption systems at the Institute of Fluid- and Thermodynamics (IFT) at the University of Siegen, Siegen, Germany. This collaboration resulted in the development of several new methods to measure not only pure gas adsorption, but gas mixture or coadsorption equilibria on inert porous solids. Also several new theoretical results could be achieved leading to new types of so-called adsorption isotherms based on the concepts of molecular association and – phenomenologically speaking – on that of thermodynamic phases of fractal dimension. Naturally, results of international collaboration of the authors over the years (1980-2000) also are included.

Advanced Co2 Capture Technologies written by Shin-ichi Nakao and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-05-07 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book summarises the advanced CO2 capture technologies that can be used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, especially those from large-scale sources, such as power-generation and steel-making plants. Focusing on the fundamental chemistry and chemical processes, as well as advanced technologies, including absorption and adsorption, it also discusses other aspects of the major CO2 capture methods: membrane separation; the basic chemistry and process for CO2 capture; the development of materials and processes; and practical applications, based on the authors’ R&D experience. This book serves as a valuable reference resource for researchers, teachers and students interested in CO2 problems, providing essential information on how to capture CO2 from various types of gases efficiently. It is also of interest to practitioners and academics, as it discusses the performance of the latest technologies applied in large-scale emission sources.

Introduction To Adsorption written by Chi Tien and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-27 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Introduction to Adsorption: Basics, Analysis, and Applications presents adsorption basics that are relevant and essential to its application, including data analysis, interpretation and design calculations. The book deliberately keeps background information to a minimum, instead comprehensively covering adsorption of liquid solutions, the difference between equilibrium individual solute uptake and surface excess, a general discussion of adsorbate uptake mechanisms and uptake rate expression, uptake steps, performance models and their generalizations, application of performance models, and design methods based on the constant behavior assumption and unused bed length concept. - Includes adsorption basics and their applications - Discusses gas adsorption equilibrium and equilibrium of liquid adsorption - Gives the various steps of adsorbate uptake and their combination to yield adsorbate uptake rate expression - Presents both rational and empirical design for adsorption processes - Highlights common mistakes found in recent adsorption publications

Pressure Swing Adsorption written by Douglas M. Ruthven and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-12-17 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Pressure Swing Adsorption is the first book that provides a coherent and concise summary of the underlying science and technology of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) processes at a level understandable to the practising engineer. PSA has achieved widespread commercial acceptance as the technology of choice for hydrogen purification, air separation and small scale air driers. However, PSA has numerous other actual and potential uses such as the recovery of methane from landfill gas, the production of carbon dioxide and other large scale applications. Since the design and optimization of a PSA process requires a somewhat mathematical model, two chapters of the book provide in-depth information on equilibrium theory and dynamic numerical simulation. However, this mathematical material will also help the general reader develop an understanding of the principles and strenghts and limitations of various approaches. PSA engineers, chemical engineers, environmental chemists, academicians and managers who must make informed decisions about purchasing costly PSA systems will find Pressure Swing Adsorption of particular value.
