In this volume recent advances in the use of modern quantitative models for the analysis of various problems related to the dynamics of social and economic systems are presented. The majority chapters describe tools and techniques of broadly perceived computational intelligence, notably fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation, neural networks and some non-standard probabilistic and statistical analyses. Due to the high complexity of the systems and problems considered, in many situations it is necessary to consider at the same time analytic, topological and statistical aspects and apply appropriate procedures and algorithms. This volume is a direct result of vivid discussions held during the Fifth International Workshop on Dynamics of Social and Economical Systems (DYSES) which was held at Benevento, Italy September 20-25, 2010, as well as a couple of post-workshop meetings and consultations.

Ventre and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The book provides a comprehensive and timely report on the topic of decision making and decision analysis in economics and the social sciences. The various contributions included in the book, selected using a peer review process, present important studies and research conducted in various countries around the globe. The majority of these studies are concerned with the analysis, modeling and formalization of the behavior of groups or committees that are in charge of making decisions of social and economic importance. Decisions in these contexts have to meet precise coherence standards and achieve a significant degree of sharing, consensus and acceptance, even in uncertain and fuzzy environments. This necessitates the confluence of several research fields, such as foundations of social choice and decision making, mathematics, complexity, psychology, sociology and economics. A large spectrum of problems that may be encountered during decision making and decision analysis in the areas of economics and the social sciences, together with a broad range of tools and techniques that may be used to solve those problems, are presented in detail in this book, making it an ideal reference work for all those interested in analyzing and implementing mathematical tools for application to relevant issues involving the economy and society.

The papers collected in this volume focus on new perspectives on individuals, society, and science, specifically in the field of socio-economic systems. The book is the result of a scientific collaboration among experts from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi (Romania), “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy), "University of Defence" of Brno (Czech Republic), and "Pablo de Olavide" University of Sevilla (Spain). The heterogeneity of the contributions presented in this volume reflects the variety and complexity of social phenomena. The book is divided in four Sections as follows. The first Section deals with recent trends in social decisions. Specifically, it aims to understand which are the driving forces of social decisions. The second Section focuses on the social and public sphere. Indeed, it is oriented on recent developments in social systems and control. Trends in quantitative theories and models are described in Section 3, where many new formal, mathematical-statistical tools for modelling complex social phenomena are presented. Finally, Section 4 shows integrative theories and models; particularly, it deals with the ethical, cultural and political approaches to social science, the pedagogical methods, and the relationship between literature, politics, religion and society. The book is addressed to sociologists, philosophers, mathematicians, statisticians, people interested in ethics, and specialists in the fields of communication, social, and political sciences.

A comprehensive overview of the internationalisation of correspondence analysis Correspondence Analysis: Theory, Practice and New Strategies examines the key issues of correspondence analysis, and discusses the new advances that have been made over the last 20 years. The main focus of this book is to provide a comprehensive discussion of some of the key technical and practical aspects of correspondence analysis, and to demonstrate how they may be put to use. Particular attention is given to the history and mathematical links of the developments made. These links include not just those major contributions made by researchers in Europe (which is where much of the attention surrounding correspondence analysis has focused) but also the important contributions made by researchers in other parts of the world. Key features include: A comprehensive international perspective on the key developments of correspondence analysis. Discussion of correspondence analysis for nominal and ordinal categorical data. Discussion of correspondence analysis of contingency tables with varying association structures (symmetric and non-symmetric relationship between two or more categorical variables). Extensive treatment of many of the members of the correspondence analysis family for two-way, three-way and multiple contingency tables. Correspondence Analysis offers a comprehensive and detailed overview of this topic which will be of value to academics, postgraduate students and researchers wanting a better understanding of correspondence analysis. Readers interested in the historical development, internationalisation and diverse applicability of correspondence analysis will also find much to enjoy in this book.

This book presents a systemic perspective on the broadly perceived problem of social care, meant in terms of a network engaging balanced resources and actors to assure the functionality, in an integrative approach. The approach involves individual, institutional and organizational structures, at the micro, mezzo- and macro-levels, in their interrelations, with proper contexts for understandings, interpretations and actions by stakeholders. The papers presented suggest ways of changes, involving even participant actors as changing agents, taking into account evolving behaviors and human relations, policies and inter-institutional frameworks, from many points of view. In the first part, various aspects, notably economic and emotional, of innovative and integrated approaches to long-term care are dealt with. Different aspects are considered exemplified by legal, educational, economic, environmental, cultural and those related to the perception of aging, labor market for the elderly, perceived quality of life, etc. The planning and management of social services are discussed in terms of a functional, and effective and efficient system, with the identification and analysis of actors and processes, and transformation policies. This is done at the local, regional and global levels.

Nomics written by Ronald Legarski and has been published by SolveForce this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-02-26 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

In an era of exponential technological growth and increasing information complexity, the need for a unified knowledge integration framework has become paramount. Nomics emerges as a groundbreaking recursive system, bridging traditional disciplinary boundaries while leveraging cutting-edge AI, quantum technologies, and blockchain-backed standardization. Rooted in its etymology—“Nomics” (from Greek "nomos," meaning law, system, or order)—this paradigm establishes a comprehensive framework where scientific, linguistic, atomic, and economic principles converge into a singular, structured, and recursively governed universal knowledge economy. At its core, Nomics synthesizes and extends: Lanomics → The Structuring of Linguistic Truth and Semantic Coherence Atonomics → Atomic and Quantum Foundations of Physical Reality Axionomics → The Recursive Framework of Axiomatic Truth and Logical Formalism By integrating these previously established systems, Nomics creates a harmonized, self-regulating model that unifies disciplines through: AI-driven knowledge architectures – Automating recursive learning and interdisciplinary synthesis Quantum coherence models – Mapping atomic structures to information networks Blockchain-backed verification – Ensuring immutable standardization and decentralized governance As a recursive framework, Nomics functions as a self-evolving knowledge structure, adapting to scientific discovery, technological progress, and epistemological refinement. This revolutionary approach ensures that knowledge is not fragmented but systematically organized, verifiable, and optimized, setting the foundation for a universal, integrated model of intelligence, innovation, and economic balance.

Complexity And Geographical Economics written by Pasquale Commendatore and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-17 with Business & Economics categories.

The uneven geographical distribution of economic activities is a huge challenge worldwide and also for the European Union. In Krugman’s New Economic Geography economic systems have a simple spatial structure. This book shows that more sophisticated models should visualise the EU as an evolving trade network with a specific topology and different aggregation levels. At the highest level, economic geography models give a bird eye’s view of spatial dynamics. At a medium level, institutions shape the economy and the structure of (financial and labour) markets. At the lowest level, individual decisions interact with the economic, social and institutional environment; the focus is on firms’ decision on location and innovation. Such multilevel models exhibit complex dynamic patterns – path dependence, cumulative causation, hysteresis – on a network structure; and specific analytic tools are necessary for studying strategic interaction, heterogeneity and nonlinearities.
