Gears written by Vincenzo Vullo and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-02-21 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book explores the geometric and kinematic design of the various types of gears most commonly used in practical applications, also considering the problems concerning their cutting processes. The cylindrical spur and helical gears are first considered, determining their main geometric quantities in the light of interference and undercut problems, as well as the related kinematic parameters. Particular attention is paid to the profile shift of these types of gears either generated by rack-type cutter or by pinion-rack cutter. Among other things, profile-shifted toothing allows to obtain teeth shapes capable of greater strength and more balanced specific sliding, as well as to reduce the number of teeth below the minimum one to avoid the operating interference or undercut. These very important aspects of geometric-kinematic design of cylindrical spur and helical gears are then generalized and extended to the other examined types of gears most commonly used in practical applications, such as straight bevel gears; crossed helical gears; worm gears; spiral bevel and hypoid gears. Finally, ordinary gear trains, planetary gear trains and face gear drives are discussed. This is the most advanced reference guide to the state of the art in gear engineering. Topics are addressed from a theoretical standpoint, but in such a way as not to lose sight of the physical phenomena that characterize the various types of gears which are examined. The analytical and numerical solutions are formulated so as to be of interest not only to academics, but also to designers who deal with actual engineering problems concerning the gears

Gear Engineers just like any other group of our society like to find answers online if they have a technical question. Those professional experts mainly look for answers to either quite uncommon complex problems, or they are younger Engineers which haven't faced a certain task yet. Many solutions to everyday Gear Engineering problems are not found in text books and are not part of the curriculum in Engineering Colleges. This is also the reason why most of the answers to questions which are related to gear design and manufacturing cannot be found online. In this book, a library of answers to frequently asked question and their answers has been compiled for the benefit of Gear Experts in manufacturing and academia. "Practical Gear Technology" covers 41 topics on 395 pages and has 325 figures which aid a better understanding and easier memorizing of the covered material. The chapters are not organized by cylindrical and bevel gears but rather by general topic. The content is divided in 4 parts:Part 1 - Gear Design and DrawingsPart 2 - Manufacturing of GearsPart 3 - OptimizationPart 4 - Measurement & TestingPart 5 - Prototyping

High Conformal Gearing written by Stephen Radzevich and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-04 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The new edition of High-Conformal Gearing continues to address the kinematics and the geometry of conformal (Novikov) gearing and high-conformal gearing. The book deals with gears that feature convex-to-concave contact of the tooth flanks of a gear and a mating pinion. Gears of this type are commonly referred to as conformal gearings. Novikov gearing is the most widely known example of conformal gearing. The helical gearing by Wildhaber, Bramley-Moore (otherwise known as the Vivkers, Bostock, and Bramley gearing, or just V.B.B.-gearing), are well-known designs of gearing that are loosely referred to as conformal gearing. The principal differences between conformal gearing as well as high-conformal gearing and Wildhaber helical gearing are outlined. It also shows that Wildhaber helical gearing from one side, and Novikov gearing from another side, are two completely different gear systems that cannot be combined into a common gear system. This book aids mechanical, automotive, and robotics engineers specializing in gear design with successfully transmitting a rotation. It also serves as a resource for graduate students taking advanced courses in gear design. Discusses the kinematics and geometry of conformal and high-conformal gearing Provides a specific set of conditions which need to be met when designing conformal and high-conformal gears Outlines the principal differences between conformal, high-conformal and Wildhaber helical gearing
