Asset Pricing And Investment Styles In Digital Assets written by Tobias Glas and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-05-20 with Business & Economics categories.

This book analyzes the emerging asset class of digital assets. When a new asset class originates, researchers try to understand some basic questions: Can digital assets, with the flagship asset bitcoin, really be considered a serious asset class? Since it is possible to trade digital assets, does it make sense to trade or to invest in these assets? How do digital assets compare to traditional asset classes like equities or bonds? After describing basic financial theory and breaking down the digital asset universe, this book provides fundamental knowledge with respect to this young and rising asset class. It focuses on special issues like the application of technical indicators, investment styles, asset pricing and portfolio construction. Furthermore, it offers remarks and links to other traditional asset classes and describes and warns of data issues in digital asset data.

Populism Media And Education written by Maria Ranieri and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-22 with Education categories.

Based on a major research project funded by the European Commission, Populism, Media and Education studies how discriminatory stereotypes are built online with a particular focus on right-wing populism. Globalization and migration have led to a new era of populism and racism in Western countries, rekindling traditional forms of discrimination through innovative means. New media platforms are being seen by populist organizations as a method to promote hate speech and unprecedented forms of proselytism. Race, gender, disability and sexual orientation are all being used to discriminate and young people are the preferred target for populist organizations and movements. This book examines how media education can help to deconstruct such hate speech and promote young people’s full participation in media-saturated societies. Drawing on rich examples from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Slovenia, and the UK - countries characterized by different political and cultural contexts – Populism, Media and Education addresses key questions about the meaning of new populism, the nature of e-engagement, and the role of education and citizenship in the digital century. With its international and interdisciplinary approach, this book is essential reading for academics and students in the areas of education, media studies, sociology, cultural studies, political sciences, discrimination and gender studies.

This volume contains the Proceedings of the Workshop on Composite Media and Homogenization Theory held in Trieste, Italy, from January 15 to 26, 1990. The workshop was organized by the International Centre for Theo retical Physics (ICTP); part of the activity was co-sponsored by the Interna tional School for Advanced Studies (SISSA). The workshop covered a broad range of topics in the mathematical the ory of composite materials and homogenization. Among the specific areas of focus were homogenization of periodic and nonperiodic structures, porous me dia, asymptotic analysis for linear and nonlinear problems, optimal bounds for effective moduli, waves in composite materials, optimal design and relaxation, random media. The workshop was actively attended by more than 100 participants from 23 countries. In the afternoon sessions 35 seminars were delivered by the participants. This volume contains research articles corresponding to 14 of the 20 invited talks which were presented. Its content will be of interest both to mathematicians working in the field and to applied mathematicians and engineers interested in modelling the behaviour of composite and random media We are pleased to express here our thanks to the ICTP for having made this workshop possible, to Ms. A. Bergamo for her continuous help during the workshop, and to Ms. C. Parma for her collaboration in editing the proceedings. The 2030 agenda for development, or what is known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is the most ambitious agenda collectively agreed upon by 193 countries in human history. In 2015, the UN Member States adopted the 17 SDGs as a framework that would help address the challenges being faced by humanity. From eradicating poverty, ending hunger, providing universal access to healthcare and education, and addressing climate change; to the partnering of individuals, communities, and nation-states to achieve global goals. Yet, the framers of the 2030 agenda forgot to dedicate one goal focused on the role of communication in achieving the SDGs. It is nearly impossible to achieve the SDGs without the articulation and embrace of the role of communication in development. Today, development has become a communication issue, and communication is a development issue. How could such a vital pillar of life be missing in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals? Volume 1 provides an overview of what the contributors have termed as the 'missing link' between existing SDGs: Communication for All.
