Editor Biography: Dr. Parvathy has been a lecturer of aerospace engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2013. She completed her Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering at Cranfield University, UK, in October 2012. Her research includes UAV design, development, and flight testing and UAV system development and testing. She has served as a systems and flight test engineer in various UAV projects in the UK, and all of these UAVs were successfully flown. Her appointment as the head of System and Design Research Cluster and as the laboratory manager of UAV Laboratory in the School of Aerospace Engineering is further recognition of her credibility. As a young research academician, she has produced numerous high-impact publications. She was appointed by a few international journals as the editor in chief, international advisor, and reviewer board member. She has also served on the technical conference committee of various international conferences. In addition, she has maintained various grants amounting to a total of more than RM 1 million. She has contributed much to the development of human capital. Her active involvement in teaching, research, consultancy, and service to the university and community emphasize her enthusiastic academician nature and her high potential to contribute to the field of aerospace engineering. Book Description: Aerospace science and technology have made remarkable progress in the last century. Although a few publications have been written on this topic, most are inadequate in elucidating the various advanced technologies developed in recent years. For this reason, publishing a book in which prominent researchers elaborate and discuss their research efforts in conjunction with other efforts seems logical. In this book, the most accurate and current materials were gathered, reviewed, and presented by an exceptional group of experts. This book presents state-of-the-art, current developments and applications in aerospace. This is an edited book composed of the following chapters: *Chapter One: Aeroelasticity: An Overview *Chapter Two: Nanocomposites in Aerospace Structure *Chapter Three: Fire Structural Behavior of Aerospace Composites *Chapter Four: Implementation of Biofuel in Aircraft Engines *Chapter Five: Aircraft Mission Profile Analysis and Trajectory Optimization *Chapter Six: Controller Design for a Hybrid UAV *Chapter Seven: Magnetic Attitude Control of a Small Satellite *Chapter Eight: CubeSat Technology in Satellite Development *Chapter Nine: Ionosphere Perturbation Modeling in an Equatorial Region through Electromagnetic Wave Propagation *Chapter Ten: Computer Simulation of Membrane Airfoil with Fluid/Structure Interaction Target Audience: This book provides a quick read for experts, researchers as well as novices in the field of aerospace research, science, technology, applications, theory and trends in research. The relevant subjects' areas includes mechanical engineering, material sciences, computational engineering and system design.

Aerospace Materials Handbook written by Sam Zhang and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Whether an airplane or a space shuttle, a flying machine requires advanced materials to provide a strong, lightweight body and a powerful engine that functions at high temperature. The Aerospace Materials Handbook examines these materials, covering traditional superalloys as well as more recently developed light alloys. Capturing state-of-the-art developments in materials research for aeronautical and aerospace applications, this book provides a timely reference for both newcomers and veteran researchers in the field. The chapters address developments in bulk materials, coatings, traditional materials, and new materials. Beginning with an overview of superalloys, including nickel-, nickel–iron-, and cobalt-based superalloys, the text covers machining, laser cladding and alloying, corrosion performance, high-temperature oxidation, thermal spraying, and nanostructured coatings. It also includes four categories of composites used in aerospace: metal matrix, polymer, carbon nanotube-reinforced polymer, and self-healing composites. The text describes preparation, processing, and fatigue of lightweight magnesium alloys, as well as an exciting new class of materials—aerogels. This book brings readers to the cutting edge of research in materials for aerospace and aeronautics. It provides an entry point into this field and presents details to stimulate future research. This unique, up-to-date resource offers knowledge to enable practitioners to develop faster, more efficient, and more reliable air- and spacecraft.

It is well known that improvements in space and aviation are the leader of today's technology, and the aircraft is the most important product of aviation. Because of this fact, the books on aircraft are always at the center of interest. In most cases, technologies designed for the aerospace industry are rapidly extending into other areas. For example, although composite materials are developed for the aerospace industry, these materials are not often used in aircraft. However, composite materials are utilized significantly in many different sectors, such as automotive, marine and civil engineering. And materials science in aviation, reliability and efficiency in aircraft technology have a major importance in aircraft design.
