Topological Aspects Of Nonsmooth Optimization written by Vladimir Shikhman and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-11-18 with Mathematics categories.
This book deals with nonsmooth structures arising within the optimization setting. It considers four optimization problems, namely, mathematical programs with complementarity constraints, general semi-infinite programming problems, mathematical programs with vanishing constraints and bilevel optimization. The author uses the topological approach and topological invariants of corresponding feasible sets are investigated. Moreover, the critical point theory in the sense of Morse is presented and parametric and stability issues are considered. The material progresses systematically and establishes a comprehensive theory for a rather broad class of optimization problems tailored to their particular type of nonsmoothness. Topological Aspects of Nonsmooth Optimization will benefit researchers and graduate students in applied mathematics, especially those working in optimization theory, nonsmooth analysis, algebraic topology and singularity theory.

This volume is the conference proceedings of the NATO ARW during August 2001 at Kananaskis Village, Canada on 'New Techniques in Topological Quantum Field Theory'. This conference brought together specialists from a number of different fields all related to Topological Quantum Field Theory. The theme of this conference was to attempt to find new methods in quantum topology from the interaction with specialists in these other fields. The featured articles include papers by V. Vassiliev on combinatorial formulas for cohomology of spaces of Knots, the computation of Ohtsuki series by N. Jacoby and R. Lawrence, and a paper by M. Asaeda and J. Przytycki on the torsion conjecture for Khovanov homology by Shumakovitch. Moreover, there are articles on more classical topics related to manifolds and braid groups by such well known authors as D. Rolfsen, H. Zieschang and F. Cohen.

Introductory Laplace Transform With Applications written by Dalpatadu and has been published by Trafford Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-17 with Mathematics categories.
One of the first applications of the modern Laplace transform was by Bateman in 1910 who used it to transform Rutherfords equations in his work on radioactive decay. The modeling of complex engineering and physical problems by linear differential equations has made the Laplace transform an indispensable mathematical tool for engineers and scientists. The method of Laplace transform for solving linear differential equations is very popular in the disciplines of electrical engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, and petroleum engineering. This book presents some applications of Laplace transforms in these disciplines. Algorithms for the numerical inversion of Laplace transform are given, and a computer program in R for the Stehfest algorithm is included.

Monotone Nonautonomous Dynamical Systems written by David N. Cheban and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-07-15 with Mathematics categories.
The monograph present ideas and methods, developed by the author, to solve the problem of existence of Bohr/Levitan almost periodic (respectively, almost recurrent in the sense of Bebutov, almost authomorphic, Poisson stable) solutions and global attractors of monotone nonautonomous differential/difference equations. Namely, the text provides answers to the following problems: 1. Problem of existence of at least one Bohr/Levitan almost periodic solution for cooperative almost periodic differential/difference equations; 2. Problem of existence of at least one Bohr/Levitan almost periodic solution for uniformly stable and dissipative monotone differential equations (I. U. Bronshtein’s conjecture, 1975); 3. Problem of description of the structure of the global attractor for monotone nonautonomous dynamical systems; 4. The structure of the invariant/minimal sets and global attractors for one-dimensional monotone nonautonomous dynamical systems; 5. Asymptotic behavior of monotone nonautonomous dynamical systems with a first integral (Poisson stable motions, convergence, asymptotically Poisson stable motions and structure of the Levinson center (compact global attractor) of dissipative systems); 6. Existence and convergence to Poisson stable motions of monotone sub-linear nonautonomous dynamical systems. This book will be interesting to the mathematical community working in the field of nonautonomous dynamical systems and their applications (population dynamics, oscillation theory, ecology, epidemiology, economics, biochemistry etc). The book should be accessible to graduate and PhD students who took courses in real analysis (including the elements of functional analysis, general topology) and with general background in dynamical systems and qualitative theory of differential/difference equations.

Convection Diffusion Problems written by Martin Stynes and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-21 with Mathematics categories.
Many physical problems involve diffusive and convective (transport) processes. When diffusion dominates convection, standard numerical methods work satisfactorily. But when convection dominates diffusion, the standard methods become unstable, and special techniques are needed to compute accurate numerical approximations of the unknown solution. This convection-dominated regime is the focus of the book. After discussing at length the nature of solutions to convection-dominated convection-diffusion problems, the authors motivate and design numerical methods that are particularly suited to this class of problems. At first they examine finite-difference methods for two-point boundary value problems, as their analysis requires little theoretical background. Upwinding, artificial diffusion, uniformly convergent methods, and Shishkin meshes are some of the topics presented. Throughout, the authors are concerned with the accuracy of solutions when the diffusion coefficient is close to zero. Later in the book they concentrate on finite element methods for problems posed in one and two dimensions. This lucid yet thorough account of convection-dominated convection-diffusion problems and how to solve them numerically is meant for beginning graduate students, and it includes a large number of exercises. An up-to-date bibliography provides the reader with further reading.
