Architecture for Kids 2 is a book that shows an evolution in form and content. In Architecture for Kids 1, I used pictures instead of words to make learning easy and to help you exercise your brain's ability to remember things. Architecture for Kids 2 was designed around the idea of design thinking. As explained in Architecture for Kids 1, design thinking helps architects to design with empathy -- that is, to find out how the design is to be used. If you have empathy with another person that means you can think the same way they do. It is empathy that helps architects understand what their clients need, and to remember that every part of a project has an impact on someone. Architecture is an art and a discipline that helps you transform your creativity and ideas into something real. This book is for you, future architect, or designer. If you decide to follow the architecture path, I can guarantee you that it is going to be an amazing journey!

Architecture for Kids is a book dedicated to children interested in architecture or design. It provides a visual learning style that helps to develop a design in thinking mentality and a photographic memory. In other words, kids will learn to see things in a different way, with more detail, focused on the design and space of elements. In this book, the author will show you how architects develop ideas from single forms like squares, rectangles, circles, or even triangles--geometric forms that kids study in school and that can identify in places that kids visit in their daily life or at home. Kids will also see how color, textures, and light play with the other elements create buildings, public spaces, parks or plazas, and cities or landscape. Architecture is an art and a discipline that helps you transform your creativity and ideas into something real. This book is for you, future architect or designer. If you decide to follow the architecture path, I can guarantee you that it is going to be an amazing journey!

This is a children's book about architecture and design. The goal of the Kid Architect book series is to introduce, expose and create interest in architecture and the related professions for people in grades K-12. In addition, young readers see themselves as the Kid Architect through the visit, tour, fun adventures and photos of buildings, landscapes and public art. This is achieved because Kid Architect is not a character with a specific image. As a result, Kid Architect is not a boy or girl; not a race color, color or creed; and not an ethnicity or nationality.

This book is the second is the Kid Architect series and titled, " Kid Architect Goes to Indiana". It is a hardcover book oriented for children from ages 5 to 18 and, in addition, the book is of interest for adults from 18 to 95. The concept provides exploration, critical thinking and STEAM concepts in a fun, casual format for school-aged children. Future books will follow the fictional character, " Kid Architect ", around to cities, places, buildings, universities and public art throughout the United States ( and possible beyond ). One of the primary goals of the book is to introduce designa and architecture to young children in a fun and appealing way through the adventures and explorations of Kid Architect. The book is designed for the reader to see themselves as Kid Architect and as the narrator during the exploration and adventures of architecture and public art and see the world around them in a new light. There are STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture and Math ) exercises take the content of the book a step further by providing thoughtful hands-on chalenges that illumniate the text. Using everyday objects which are available in the home, children are presented with open-ended challenges directly related to topics in the book to inspire their creative problem-solving skills. Children S Spaces written by Mark Dudek and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-05-04 with Architecture categories.

This collection of essays is concerned with the experiences children have within the supervised worlds they inhabit, as well as with architecture and landscape architecture. International examples of innovative childcare practice are illustrated together with the design processes which informed their development. The emphasis here is on new and experimental childcare projects which set-out to reassert the rights of children to participate in a complex multi-faceted world, which is no longer available to them, unless under adult supervision. Research supports in depth recommendations regarding the ideal children's environment, across a range of contexts and dimensions. Until recent times, the needs of children within the urban environment were largely ignored. There is little tradition and no broadly agreed contemporary architectural or landscape theory as to how children should be provided for, beyond a limited functional agenda. There is a sense that architecture for childhood is not taken seriously; it is either whimsical and ephemeral or largely designed for adults, an adjunct to the more important business of adult needs and aspirations. Yet children access much of their education and development through play and social interaction with their childhood counterparts. The spaces in and around children"s daycare centres, schools, supervised parks and other dedicated children"s environments are the subject of this collection. As more and more purpose designed buildings and gardens for children are opened, the need to listen to children and their carers is becoming more aparant. Mark Dudek gathers together a number of internationally recognized experts in the field of childcare environments to write about different aspects of the landscape. They have been chosen in particular because of their background in enquiring, research orientated work, both theoretical and practical. They listen to and watch children. Contributors have considered the child"s environment as one which is secure and controlled yet offers additional environmental dimensions which extend developmental possibilities. Children often spend a great deal of time in daycare facilties and schools, as parents are absorbed in their own work and leisure activities. This places an emphasis on architects and planners to consider the needs of children in great detail. As such, the children"s environment must be conceived of as a rich, complex place; a "world within a world". We use the word LANDSCAPE in recognition that children do not differentiate between the inside and the outside, private and public; every part of their perception is open to stimulation by a stimulating environment.
