Daniel Kroff’s adventure to be an artist found himself on a ranch in Central Florida. Bought old man Ed’s black cowpony. Daniel, only fifteen and a half years old, became known as the Kid. This becomes handy when faced with a rattlesnake that’s ready to strike some lumberjacks setting up a sawmill. Rounding up cattle, mending fences, finding calves in palmetto patches and messy job of doctoring those that had screw worms. Also to face Ace Scoggins and his boys, who were enemies of old man Ed. The Kid had to conquer the tragedy of Black Hammock. These things he did not expect on adventure to be an artist.

There are many reasons to be curious about the way people learn, and the past several decades have seen an explosion of research that has important implications for individual learning, schooling, workforce training, and policy. In 2000, How People Learn: Brain, Mind, Experience, and School: Expanded Edition was published and its influence has been wide and deep. The report summarized insights on the nature of learning in school-aged children; described principles for the design of effective learning environments; and provided examples of how that could be implemented in the classroom.
