Onderhavig boek behandelt de toekomst van de rapportering over niet-financiële informatie. Op 22 oktober 2014 namen het Europees Parlement en de Raad richtlijn 2014/95/EU met betrekking tot de bekendmaking van niet-financiële informatie en informatie inzake diversiteit door bepaalde ondernemingen en groepen aan. De omzetting gebeurde met de wet van 3 september 2017. Een verklaring van niet-financiële informatie (NFI) moet worden opgesteld door een organisatie van openbaar belang die meer dan 500 werknemers tewerkstelt en meer dan 17.000.000 EUR balanstotaal of een omzet van meer dan 34.000.000 EUR heeft. De commissaris gaat na of deze verklaring daadwerkelijk is opgemaakt en opgenomen in het jaarverslag of in een afzonderlijk verslag en of de niet-financiële informatie al dan niet in overeenstemming is met de jaarrekening. De Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) en de International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) vormen de belangrijkste internationale standaardsetters qua NFI-rapportering. De NFI-rapportering is een belangrijk instrument van communicatie inzake maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen, dat ook aan bod komt in de visie van de financiële analisten als NFI-gebruikers. Onderhavig boek sluit af met de Awards for Best Belgian Sustainability Reports die sinds 1998 door het Instituut van de Bedrijfsrevisoren worden georganiseerd. Le présent ouvrage traite du futur du reporting concernant l’information non financière. Le Parlement européen et le Conseil ont adopté, en date du 22 octobre 2014, la directive 2014/95/UE en ce qui concerne la publication d’informations non financières et d’informations relatives à la diversité par certaines grandes entreprises et certains groupes. La transposition ne fut faite qu’avec la loi du 3 septembre 2017. Une déclaration d’information non financière (INF) devra être établie par une entité d’intérêt public qui occupe plus de 500 salariés et a un bilan total de plus de 17.000.000 d’euros ou réalise un chiffre d’affaires de plus de 34.000.000 d’euros. Le commissaire vérifie si celle-ci a effectivement été établie et reprise dans le rapport de gestion ou dans un rapport distinct et si les informations non financières concordent ou non avec les comptes annuels. La Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) et l’International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) constituent les principaux organismes normatifs internationaux de reporting INF. Ce reporting INF est un instrument important de communication en matière de responsabilité sociétale des entreprises, lequel est également abordé dans la vision des analystes financiers comme utilisateurs INF. Le présent ouvrage se conclut par les Awards for Best Belgian Sustainability Reports qui sont organisés par l’Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises depuis 1998.

National Oil Companies (NOCs) directly or indirectly control the majority of oil and gas reserves. As such, they are of great consequence to their country's economy, to importing countries' energy security, and to the stability of oil and gas markets. The paper analyzes the available evidence on the objectives, governance and performance of 20 NOCs from both net importing and net exporting countries, and draws conclusions about the design of policies and measures that are more likely to lead to social value creation. NOCs differ from private companies on a number of very important variables, including the level of competition in the market in which they operate, their business profile along the sector value chain, and their degree of commercial orientation and internationalization. Most share some core characteristics: they are usually tied to the 'national purpose' and serve political and economic goals other than maximizing the firm's profits. This paper introduces a conceptual model to analyze value creation by NOCs that takes into consideration their complex objective function. Our analysis aims to answer the following questions: Are certain corporate governance arrangements more suited than others to promote value creation? Is good geology a pre-condition for NOC value creation? Are there benefits from exposing the NOC to competition from private oil companies? Does the development of forward and backward linkages hamper NOC value creation?

The question of governance of the Internet is increasing in significance.
