Tiny Lake Superior Agates, Treasures Anyone can Find is a book about an unusual subject. Although it applies to Lake Superior agates, it can apply to agates of all types, since most people try to collect large agates, rather than using a computer to turn a quarter inch agate into a two foot wide "monster".The author found that including tiny agates in a collection made collecting Lake Superior agates much easier when living in California. Thousands were obtained as gifts or rescued from pails destined to be crushed and cast in acrylic souvenirs. They can even be easily found underfoot in well-traveled places to this day.Nearly half the agates in a 10,000 agate image database can be classed as small or tiny. Any that can be held between the fingers can be cut in half, polished and scanned.
