Artikel ini mengupas faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penceraian pasangan Islam di samping pemaparan statistik perkahwinan. Selain itu, impak penceraian juga dihuraikan kerana kedua-dua pihak iaitu suami dan isteri perlu juga mengambil kira kesan terhadap anak-anak selepas mereka bercerai. Artikel kesembilan berkaitan impak sosial terhadap penempatan. Kewujudan setinggan mencetuskan banyak masalah kepada persekitaran perumahan sedia ada khususnya masalah sosial. Antara masalah yang muncul adalah kemerosotan pencapaian akademik, dadah, keciciran sekolah dan keganasan rumah tangga. Mobiliti sosial semakin berkembang dalam masyarakat Malaysia kerana wujud banyak persaingan dalam pelbagai bidang. Masyarakat yang bersifat tertutup tidak dapat pergi lebih jauh dalam era hari ini.
