Este trabajo es el resultado de un compendio de reflexiones que han realizado docentes invitados, profesores y estudiantes del doctorado en agrociencias, como una aproximación a las agrociencias desde un contexto de trópico, con un enfoque inter y transdisciplinar como respuesta al desarrollo rural y al posterior acuerdo que se está gestando en el país. La Universidad de La Salle, sin excluir otras regiones, hace una apuesta por la Orinoquía colombiana, conformada por ecosistemas, que son frágiles para los proyectos minero-energéticos y agroindustriales, y ante la propuesta que la subregión de la altillanura se convierta en la gran frontera agrícola del país. Pero, al mismo tiempo, estas subregiones de la Orinoquía colombiana están conformadas por ecosistemas antifrágiles, pues allí se encuentra el 40% de riqueza hídrica del país, además de una apuesta por las culturas locales: grupos indígenas y campesinos, para que a través de proyectos de investigación participativa con los académicos construyan mejores condiciones de vida.
