Ausgestattet mit dieser Wachsamkeit werden fortgeschrittene Aikidoka befähigt, verbale oder körperliche Bedrohungen bereits in ihrem Entstehen zu erkennen, um dann im "richtigen Augenblick" reaktionsschnell zu reagieren und richtig zu handeln, so dass sie verbale oder körperliche Attacken weitgehend schadlos überstehen können.
