The Routledge Companion to Air Transport Management provides a comprehensive, up-to-date review of air transport management research and literature. This exciting new handbook provides a unique repository of current knowledge and critical debate with an international focus, considering both developed and emerging markets, and covering key sectors of the air transport industry. The companion consists of 25 chapters that are written by 39 leading researchers, scholars and industry experts based at universities, research institutes, and air transport companies and organisations in 12 different countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America to provide a definitive, trustworthy resource. The international team of contributors have proven experience of research and publication in their specialist areas, and contribute to this companion by drawing upon research published mainly in academic, industry and government sources. This seminal companion is a vital resource for researchers, scholars and students of air transport management. It is organised into three parts: current state of the air transport sectors (Part I); application of management disciplines to airlines and airports (Part II); and key selected themes (Part III).

Aviation is an integral part of the global transportation network, and the number of flights worldwide is expected to grow rapidly in the coming decades. Yet, the effects that subsonic aircraft emissions may be having upon atmospheric composition and climate are not fully understood. To study such issues, NASA sponsors the Atmospheric Effects of Aviation Program (AEAP). The NRC Panel on Atmospheric Effects of Aviation is charged to evaluate AEAP, and in this report, the panel is focusing on the subsonic assessment (SASS) component of the program. This evaluation of SASS/AEAP was based on the report Atmospheric Effects of Subsonic Aircraft: Interim Assessment Report of the Advanced Sub-sonic Technology Program, on a strategic plan developed by SASS managers, and on other relevant documents.

Light Scattering By Ice Crystals written by Kuo-Nan Liou and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-10-06 with Science categories.

This research volume outlines the scientific foundations that are central to our current understanding of light scattering, absorption and polarization processes involving ice crystals. It also demonstrates how data from satellite remote sensing of cirrus clouds can be combined with radiation parameterizations in climate models to estimate the role of these clouds in temperature and precipitation responses to climate change. Providing a balanced treatment of the fundamentals and applications, this book synthesizes the authors' own work, as well as that of other leading researchers in this area. Numerous illustrations are included, including three-dimensional schematics, to provide a concise discussion of the subject and enable easy visualization of the key concepts. This book is intended for active researchers and advanced graduate students in atmospheric science, climatology, and remote sensing, as well as scholars in related fields such as ice microphysics, electromagnetic wave propagation, geometric optics, radiative transfer and cloud-climate interactions.
