In poco più di mezzo secolo, sorprendendo per la forza e la velocità con cui hanno fatto irruzione nella vita delle società moderne e più avanzate, sono avvenute trasformazioni tecnologiche e professionali che hanno rivoluzionato il sistema dei media. Gli effetti di questo radicale mutamento tecnologico non riguardano solo le categorie professionali e il pubblico dei lettori, ma mettono fine alle egemonie che hanno caratterizzato per secoli i rapporti di forza in aree geografiche tanto diverse e distanti come Occidente e Oriente, determinando uno spostamento del potere mediatico dal sistema anglosassone verso la nuova galassia arabamediterranea. Le questioni che si aprono, con le trasformazioni e i nuovi equilibri nel potere comunicativo-mediatico, interrogano la cultura, ma anche la politica, la società e tutti i fenomeni che sono in corso, ma per tutti, nel futuro, nel mondo dei media, il vero grande problema sarà la verifica di migliaia di contenuti e allo stesso tempo rimanere autorevoli e credibili nei confronti dei lettori. Se algoritmi e robot, già in alcuni giornali americani, scrivono le notizie, le sfide nuove che si preparano ad affrontare i grandi e moderni giornali, anche quelli con alle spalle una lunga e prestigiosa tradizione, è come affrontare nel modo giusto il cambiamento e l’innovazione continua. Roberta Nunnari (nata a Reggio Calabria nel 1983), giornalista, è laureata in Programmazione e Gestione delle Politiche e dei Servizi Sociali dell’Area Mediterranea ed ha insegnato come professore a contratto “Metodi e strumenti della comunicazione”, all’Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria e “Storia e tecniche della comunicazione”, all’Università per Stranieri “Dante Alighieri” della stessa città. Collabora con quotidiani e riviste e ha scritto il saggio “Da Shahrazàd ad Al Jazeera” per il volume “Media arabi e cultura nel Mediterraneo” di AA.VV. (Gangemi, Roma 2009).
