Alex has been given a puppet theatre for his birthday. He has promised his teacher that he will present a play to the rest of his class the next day. The problem is that he hasn't thought of a good story yet! It's bedtime and Alex has only fifteen more minutes before his Father wants him upstairs. His adventures are about to begin and his puppets are about to come to life! But there are evil pirates about who want to capture the island and destroy the valuable rain forest. This book illuminates how throughout the twentieth century and into the twenty-first, playwrights and artists in American theatre both embodied and disrupted the feminine of their times.
