Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Gattungen, Note: 2,3, Universität Rostock (Institut für Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Literarische Avantgarde um 1910, 5 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Rahmen des Seminars "Literarische Avantgarde um 1910: Modellinterpretationen ausgewählter Texte" las ich den Roman "Die andere Seite" von Alfred Kubin. Schon während des Lesens war ich fasziniert von dem Schreibstil des Autors und von dem Inhalt. Beim Besprechen des Werkes wurden verschiedene Genres erwähnt, zu denen man dieses zählen könnte. So wurde mein Interesse geweckt, den Roman unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Gattung des Reiseberichts genauer zu untersuchen. Hierfür stelle ich im Vorfeld einen Katalog mit den wichtigsten Merkmalen auf, welche ich anschließend am Roman belegen möchte. Dabei stütze ich mich hauptsächlich auf Forschungsliteratur von Peter J. Brenner "Der Reisebericht - Die Entwicklung einer Gattung in der deutschen Literatur" und "Der Reisebericht in der deutschen Literatur - Ein Forschungsüberblick als Vorstudie zu einer Gattungsgeschichte". Weiterhin habe ich das "Literaturlexikon" hrsg. von Walter Killy und das "Reallexikon der deutschen Literaturwissenschaft" hrsg. von Jan-Dirk Müller für die Erstellung des Merkmalkatalogs hinzugezogen. Am Ende der Arbeit formuliere ich das Ergebnis, welches ich aus den Untersuchungen gewonnen habe. Meine Prognose ist, dass es sich nicht um einen Reisebericht handelt.
