Alice in Jamesland, the first biography of Alice Howe Gibbens James wife of the psychologist and philosopher William James, and sister-in-law of novelist Henry James was made possible by the rediscovery of hundreds of her letters and papers thought to be destroyed in the 1960s. Encompassing European travel, Civil War profiteering, suicide, a stormy courtship, séances, psychedelic mushrooms, the death of a child, and an enduring love story, Alice in Jamesland is a portrait of a nineteenth-century upper-middle-class marriage, told often through Alice s own letters and made all the more dynamic because of her role in the James family. Susan E. Gunter positions Alice as a lens through which to view the family, as a perceptive observer privy to knowledge of relationships to which those outside the James family were not. She also portrays Alice as the cohesive factor that held the Jameses together, bridging the gap between brothers William and Henry and acting as the stable center for a highly gifted but eccentric family. An idealistic, serious young woman, Alice was uniquely suited to join this clan, bringing psychological soundness and unshakeable personal conviction to her union with the Jameses. Her life s story provides a fascinating view of one of America s most important intellectual dynasties and offers new insights into the lives of nineteenth-century women.

Alice was published in 1865, three years after Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat on 4 July 1862 (this popular date of the "golden afternoon" might be a confusion or even another Alice-tale, for that particular day was cool, cloudy, and rainy) up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church): Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849, "Prima" in the book's prefatory verse); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852, "Secunda" in the prefatory verse); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853, "Tertia" in the prefatory verse). The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. During the trip, Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. He began writing the manuscript of the story the next day, although that earliest version no longer exists. The girls and Dodgson took another boat trip a month later when he elaborated the plot to the story of Alice, and in November he began working on the manuscript in earnes Alice is playing with a white kitten (whom she calls "Snowdrop") and a black kitten (whom she calls "Kitty")-the offspring of Dinah, Alice's cat in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland-when she ponders what the world is like on the other side of a mirror's reflection. Climbing up on the fireplace mantel, she pokes at the wall-hung mirror behind the fireplace and discovers, to her surprise, that she is able to step through it to an alternative world. In this reflected version of her own house, she finds a book with looking-glass poetry, "Jabberwocky," whose reversed printing she can read only by holding it up to the mirror. She also observes that the chess pieces have come to life, though they remain small enough for her to pick up. Upon leaving the house (where it had been a cold, snowy night), she enters a sunny spring garden where the flowers have the power of human speech; they perceive Alice as being a "flower that can move about." Elsewhere in the garden, Alice meets the Red Queen, who is now human-sized, and who impresses Alice with her ability to run at breathtaking speeds. This is a reference to the chess rule that queens are able to move any number of vacant squares at once, in any direction, which makes them the most "agile" of pieces. The Red Queen reveals to Alice that the entire countryside is laid out in squares, like a gigantic chessboard, and offers to make Alice a queen if she can move all the way to the eighth rank/row in a chess match. This is a reference to the chess rule of Promotion. Alice is placed in the second rank as one of the White Queen's pawns, and begins her journey across the chessboard by boarding a train that literally jumps over the third row and directly into the fourth rank, thus acting on the rule that pawns can advance two spaces on their first move. Tenniel illustration of Tweedledum (centre) and Tweedledee (right) and Alice (left). 1871) Red King snoring, by John Tenniel She then meets the fat twin brothers Tweedledum and Tweedledee, whom she knows from the famous nursery rhyme. After reciting the long poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter," the Tweedles draw Alice's attention to the Red King-loudly snoring away under a nearby tree-and maliciously provoke her with idle philosophical banter that she exists only as an imaginary figure in the Red King's dreams (thereby implying that she will cease to exist the instant he wakes up). Finally, the brothers begin acting out their nursery-rhyme by suiting up for battle, only to be frightened away by an enormous crow, as the nursery rhyme about them predicts. Alice next meets the White Queen, who is very absent-minded but boasts of (and demonstrates) her ability to remember future events before they have happened.

Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking Glass (1871) are among the most enduring works in the English language. In the decades following their publication, writers on both sides of the Atlantic produced no fewer than two hundred imitations, revisions, and parodies of Carroll's fantasies for children. Carolyn Sigler has gathered the most interesting and original of these responses to the Alice books, many of them long out of print. Produced between 1869 and 1930, these works trace the extraordinarily creative, and often critical, response of diverse writers. These writers—male and female, radical and conservative—appropriated Carroll's structures, motifs, and themes in their Alice-inspired works in order to engage in larger cultural debates. Their stories range from Christina Rossetti's angry subversion of Alice's adventures, Speaking Likenesses (1874), to G.E. Farrow's witty fantasy adventure, The Wallypug of Why (1895), to Edward Hope's hilarious parody of social and political foibles, Alice in the Delighted States (1928). Anyone who has ever followed Alice down the rabbit hole will enjoy the adventures of her literary siblings in the wide Wonderland of the human imagination.

When equipped with the languages of the Bible, the Alice in Wonderland Movie depicts the story of the Biblical End Times, the demise of satan the dragon, the beast, who is the type for the Anti Christ, according to all of scriptural prophesy. Not every aspect of the Alice and Wonderland Movie is Biblically based; however seventy five percent of the events within the Alice in Wonderland Movie are Biblically factual events of the End Days of flesh life before the going into the Heavenly reign with the God of all creation and His Christ, Jesus. In accordance with scripture, the Biblical end times are concerning the Creator of heaven and earth' return to earth for the gathering up of the descendents of the disbursed 12 tribes of forefather Jacob, being Israel. This biblically foretold story of the harvest of the earth will be a gathering of all nations from the four corners of this earth to prepare all mankind for entering into the Kingdom of God. This Millennial prelude to God's heavenly eternity is biblically called the "Heavenly Millennium, being the Lord's Day. Within the story of the Alice in Wonderland movie, you will find knowledge of the Biblical day of the Creator's redemption plan of all creation. The time when good will triumph over evil, spoken of as "Fraptist Day. Disney's "Fraptist Day" is played out by characters of the traditional 1862, Charles Dodgen' depiction of the Alice in "Under land original Story." The White Queen of the North In the story of the Alice in Wonderland movie, is the represented in scripture as none other than mystery Babylon, herself, the Mother of Harlots and Sorcery greater detail will be exposed out of the Bible' scriptures on the White Queen of the North and her sister, the Bloody Big Head, Red Queen of the South, and all of the creatures of the land who play out their roles in the saga of the End Times. "When you face our enemy, the dragon being satan as in Rev. 12, you don't face him alone, just hold on tight to the sword, for the sword knows what it wants!" As it is written, as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end (Joel 6: 1; Ecc. 1: 9) as it was in the days of Noah, (Matt. 7: 24-27, so shall it be in the end (Jer. 51: 42, 55). The flood of 'The End Times" will not be a flood of "water," but a flood of the "Lies" from the pulpit of the false prophet the Anti Christ teachers, preachers, and prophets according to the Book of Dan. 11: 21-25; Rev. 12: 7-16. One of my favorite scriptures is (Jer. 6: 16). When understanding of the Biblical languages is exposed, throughout the scriptures, satan carries many titles as Christ does, depending on which dispensational period in which he is featured. I am Michelle Quiller, author of "Knowledge of the Biblical Millennium" a 12 book Series of teachings on the Tribulations, the End Times of Jacob's troubles. Throughout my writings, I will be opening up scriptural knowledge as you keep in mind that all souls born to earth, came from heaven as living souls, since the beginning of time. Many interpret this as the theory of reincarnating, however to be born again has nothing to do with reinterring the womb of woman. The scriptures teach that it is given to mankind to live once, however after this is the second death, therefore the second death is the death of that individual's soul, when the soul refuse to choose the life which comes only through Christ, as the Lord. The Creator purposed for each and every individual to be born of the water and of the blood, as Christ was, and Christ was also sent to earth and given to mankind as a "Ransomed" repayment for the sins of mankind. Read also "Knowledge of the Raptured and the Ransomed." The Bride of Christ, God's Church is in her wonderland wilderness in this present age of time, but hold on the back of the book says she wins, and there will be a dance of victory for her.
