Alicia de Larrocha está considerada una de las pianistas más importantes del siglo xx. Ma-nuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Xavier Montsalvatge, Federico Mom-pou, etcétera, formaban parte habitual de sus conciertos; pero su repertorio abarcaba desde Bach hasta Rajmáninov. En Nueva York, recibió el apodo de Lady Mozart y su versión de los conciertos de Beethoven fue antológica.
