Und dann behauptet der verletzte Mann mit den auffallend silbernen Augen und tödlichen Klingen auch noch, ich wäre seine Gefährtin. Baldor will mich an seiner Seite haben. Auf diesen Moment habe ich gewartet. Mich nach ihm gesehnt. Aber jetzt, wo er da ist, bin ich mir auf einmal nicht mehr so sicher. Baldor ist ein harter Mann, wild und stur. Unter seiner rauen Schale lauert Dunkelheit. Meine Gefühle für den feindlichen Gahn werden immer stärker, doch ich weiß nicht, ob ich stark genug bin, ihm Licht zu bringen. BALDOR Ich habe nicht damit gerechnet, nach dem Verlust meiner Gefährtin mit einer weiteren gesegnet zu werden. Ich bin mir nicht einmal sicher, ob ich diese zweite Chance auf Glück verdiene. Doch ich werde sie finden. Ich werde für sie kämpfen. Und ich werde sie mitnehmen. Aber mein Angriff auf die übrigen Clans verläuft nicht wie geplant. Die anderen Gahns haben neue Verbündete und sind mächtiger als je zuvor. Meine Klingen senken zu müssen, ist schon schlimm genug. Schwerer wiegt jedoch, dass meine atemberaubende Gefährtin Theresa mich ablehnt. Ihre Haare haben die Farbe der Sonne und sie ist das Licht in meiner dunklen Welt. Eine Zukunft, auf die ich nicht mehr zu hoffen gewagt habe. Ich werde sie nicht verlieren. Um ihre Liebe zu gewinnen, muss ich tun, was ich nie zuvor in Erwägung gezogen habe. Und ich werde mehr opfern, als ich je für möglich gehalten hätte.

Ich verstehe nicht, was er sich von mir erhofft. In unserem Lager gibt es genug Menschenfrauen, die sehr viel aufgeschlossener sind als ich. Nichtsdestotrotz versucht Galok unbeirrt, mich auf seine seltsame Art zu umwerben. Egal, wie nachdrücklich ich ihn zurückweise, er kommt immer wieder mit einem Funkeln in seinen kupferfarbenen Augen zu mir zurück. Vielleicht sucht dieser Kerl bloß nach einer Herausforderung. Na gut, die kann er gerne haben. Ich werde mich auf gar keinen Fall in einen Alien verlieben. Das steht fest. GALOK Ich brauche keine Vision der Lavrika, um zu wissen, dass Kat meine vorbestimmte Gefährtin ist. Sie gehört zu mir, Heiliges Band hin oder her. Ihre strahlend blauen Augen und ihre harschen Worte entzünden ein Feuer in mir. Keine andere Frau hat mich je zuvor so fasziniert. Und doch scheint meine Aufmerksamkeit ihr unangenehm zu sein. Aber das schreckt mich nicht ab. Jedes Fauchen, jeder Tritt und jeder zornige Blick in meine Richtung zieht mich noch mehr in ihren Bann. Bestärkt mich in meiner Entschlossenheit, sie für mich zu gewinnen. Sie ist stur. Aber das bin ich auch. Ich werde ihr widerspenstiges Menschenherz erobern. Egal, wie lange es dauert.
