A alvenaria estrutural é um sistema construtivo que tem milhares de anos de existência e surgiu de um conhecimento empírico por parte dos construtores. Esta obra tem por objetivo apresentar aos leitores os principais aspectos tecnológicos para a execução do sistema construtivo, reunindo diversos autores de diferentes áreas de especialidade. O livro aborda conceitos tecnológicos que envolvem o projeto, a racionalização, a compatibilização e o desempenho, fundamentados em normalizações nacionais e internacionais, e uma vasta bibliografia complementar.
