WARNING: Some personal experiences of survey-respondents received as feedback is anonymously included, and is graphic and explicitly sexual in nature. The science behind normative parental spanking is obfuscated by a long list of claims in attempts to denigrate it. However; in the last decade, a comprehensive body of evidence-based research and longitudinal studies has emerged to scientifically debunk much of these opinions. One opinion states that, where adults exhibit an interest in consensual spanking with other adults, this comes from the "derailment of sexual development" caused by childhood disciplinary spanking. The science very convincingly shows that adult spanking interest is not associated with childhood experience. In fact, it is strongly negatively correlated. The component of never-spanked males with such interest is materially higher than national averages in every category. Rather, non-straight males exhibit adult spanking interest 25 times greater than the national averages of males. This clearly indicates that adult spanking is a mechanism by which non-straight males express their sexuality with other males. An in-depth per-capita comparison of adult males in various EU countries shows no measureable difference whether the country is a spanking-allowed or spanking-ban country. Further, there is no discernible trend showing that adult spanking has waned as a function of how long it has been since parental spanking was banned. Spanking bans have had no effect on adult spanking interest, which again disproves the "sexual derailment" theory.

Parental Development written by Jack Demick and has been published by Psychology Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-02-25 with Psychology categories.

This volume seeks to identify and define the parameters of a relatively new problem area -- parental development. Drawing on the grand developmental theories of Sigmund Freud, Lawrence Kohlberg, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Heinz Werner, and their descendants, this book has the potential to generate an area of common concern for those interested in either child/adolescent or adult development through the novel application of developmental principles and considerations to the ecological context of parenting. To that end, this volume brings together theory and research from the subfields of adult and child/adolescent development. Chapter authors place the problem area of parental development in theoretical context and examine selected psychological part-processes implicated by focusing on cognitive and psychosocial development. The authors then deal with a range of issues that are perhaps less traditional and/or more in line with the complex character of everyday life. That is, they utilize either relatively novel comparison groups or treat parents at later stages of development rather than those in young adulthood as is often the case. Finally, the authors uncover both similarities and differences among their theoretical perspectives with an eye toward delineating some possible future research directions.

An International Review of Empirical Research on the Psychology of Fundamentalism is a sequel to Williamson (2020), who examined the sociohistorical emergence of fundamentalism and controversial conceptions of the movement that have dominated decades of empirical research in psychology. He concluded by calling for a critical review of this sizable literature, amassed from the early 20th century. In the present book, W. Paul Williamson and Sarah Demmrich respond by providing summaries and critical observations for 365 empirical studies, collected and organized from peer-reviewed journals. A summary of findings indicated that the largest share of statistical associations between study variables and fundamentalism was moderate in size, followed by those that were weak, and then by strong relationships, which were much less frequent. However, this observed pattern of relationships, particularly those characterized by moderate and especially strong associations, much reflected the findings from sexual bias studies. Finally, the authors offer critical considerations for sample selection, methodology, and theoretical applications in future fundamentalism research.

The issue of consent and criminal law commonly focuses on consent in sports, sexual activity, and medical treatment. The notion of consent and the influence of state control in this context, however, are pervasive throughout the criminal justice process from the pre-trial stage to rehabilitation. This edited collection charts an important and original pathway to understanding these important issues, pre-, during, and post-trial, from a range of perspectives, including doctrinal, socio-legal, intersectional, medico-legal, feminist, critical legal, and queer theoretical viewpoints. The collection addresses the complex inter-relationship between consent and state control in relation to private authorisation and public censure; sexual behaviour; the age of consent; queering consent; Pro-LGBTI Refugee cases; rape by fraud; male rape; undercover policing; prisons and consent; compulsory treatment for sex offenders; sex offenders with high functioning autism and the suitability of sex offender treatment programmes; and, the criminalisation of HIV transmission. This multi-disciplinary approach draws together a variety of experts from legal and medical academia and practice in order to confront the issues raised by these subjects, which are likely to remain controversial and in need of reform for years to come.

Writing Empirical Research Reports: A Basic Guide for Students of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Ninth Edition, offers clear and practical guidance on how to write research proposals, reports, theses, and dissertations. The book describes the types of information that should be included, how this information should be expressed, and where various types of information should be placed within a research report. The organization is designed to walk students through all the elements required when writing an original research report for a class, for a thesis/dissertation, or for publication. Most guidelines are illustrated with examples from actual (and recent) research reports published in peer-reviewed journals across the social and behavioral sciences. The new edition includes fully updated examples and chapter exercises, expanded material on qualitative methods, significant new material on research ethics, and new content on online research including social media. Accompanied by online resources for students and instructors, Writing Empirical Research Reports is ideal for use in research methods courses, thesis/dissertation preparation courses, research seminars where writing a research report is a culminating activity, and any graduate-level seminar in which the instructor covers the vital components necessary to prepare a research manuscript for submission for publication.
