Magnetic Properties Of Josephson Junction Networks An Introduction written by Roberto De Luca and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-19 with Science categories.

The study of the magnetic response of Josephson junction networks can be useful in outlining the behaviour of existing superconducting electronic devices, in conceiving new types of magnetic sensors, and in describing the low-field magnetic properties of granular superconductors. In the present work a wide introduction to Josephson junction networks is provided. The Josephson equations are introduced by means of Ohta's semi-classical model and a simple description of the magnetic response of multiply connected superconductors is given. The analysis of the magnetic response of Josephson junction networks is gradually built up from simple interferometers to three-dimensional lattices of superconducting devices. The analytic description of these systems may be applied when fabricating ultrasensitive vectorial magnetic field sensors and interpreting the low-field magnetic properties of superconducting granular systems.

This book provides a comprehensive and up-to-date description of the Josephson effect, a topic of never-ending interest in both fundamental and applied physics. In this volume, world-renowned experts present the unique aspects of the physics of the Josephson effect, resulting from the use of new materials, of hybrid architectures and from the possibility of realizing nanoscale junctions. These new experimental capabilities lead to systems where novel coherent phenomena and transport processes emerge. All this is of great relevance and impact, especially when combined with the didactic approach of the book. The reader will benefit from a general and modern view of coherent phenomena in weakly-coupled superconductors on a macroscopic scale. Topics that have been only recently discussed in specialized papers and in short reviews are described here for the first time and organized in a general framework. An important section of the book is also devoted to applications, with focus on long-term, future applications. In addition to a significant number of illustrations, the book includes numerous tables for comparative studies on technical aspects.

The science of superconducting electronics was first developed over forty years ago, fifty years after the discovery of superconductivity. Since then, a wide range of applications has emerged, and more are envisaged within this ever expanding and exciting field. SQUIDs, the Josephson Effects and Superconducting Electronics chronicles this development from fundamental principles to the present work with high-temperature superconductors. The book discusses superconductivity, Josephson effects, and detectors of unparalleled sensitivity such as SQUIDs. It punctuates theory with practical discussions on how to harness this new science. This complete guide to the subject is an invaluable resource for graduate students and researchers with a specific interest in this field. It also provides guidance to those working in areas of industry where superconducting electronics could be applied.

A Josephson Junction is a type of electronic circuit capable of switching at very high speeds when operated at temperatures approaching absolute zero. The Josephson Junction exploits the phenomenon of superconductivity, the ability of certain materials to conduct electric current with practically zero resistance. This book presents new and important research in superconductivity. This book presents leading research from around the world in this exciting field. This includes fabrication techniques, unconventional superconductors, Josephson tunnel junctions, Josephson vortex behaviour, thermomagnetic shock waves and finite temperature effects.

The Josephson Effect is one of the notable effects of superconductivity, a macroscopic quantum phenomenon that occurs in certain metals at very low temperatures when electron pairs are tunnelled through a thin insulating barrier between two superconductors. This work looks at the applications of the effect.
