Apart from small corrections the only substantial addition to the text of the first edition consists therefore in an appendix on experimental technique. In view of the unfamiliar nature of many of the procedures and devices employed in the investigation of colloids, and in the absence of any work devoted to colloidal laboratory practice even the brief directions given may be of assistance to the student.
