Buku ini merupakan kumpulan kisah perjuangan hidup seorang anak lanang ketika di perantauan bersama kedua orang tuaku. Kisah ini berawal dari perjuangan kedua orang tuaku saat mencari nafkah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarganya. Saat hidup di tanah kelahirannya, orangtuaku menjadi pekerja serabutan. Kadang bekerja, kadang tidak. Sementara harus menghidupi kelima anaknya. Hingga pada suatu saat, akhirnya orang tuaku memutuskan untuk hijrah mengikuti program Transmigrasi ke Pulau Sumatera yang digagas oleh pemerintah. Program tranmigrasi telah berhasil mengangkat kemiskinan keluargaku. Alhamdulillah, aku bisa makan sehari tiga kali dengan nasi dan lauknya. Aku bisa bersekolah seperti layaknya anak-anak lain. Aku bisa bermain dengan penuh kegembiraan bersama anak-anak lainnya. Di pulau sumatera inilah kisah kecilku dimulai. Kurang lebih 11 tahun aku tinggal bersama kedua orangtuaku tercinta. Menyaksikan keindahan perjuangan yang tidak bertepi. Namun aku bersyukur bisa menikmati. Olehnya tulisan ini, ingin mengabadikan setiap momen indah yang telah terjadi. Semoga tulisan ini, kelak dapat menginspirasi dan bermanfaat bagi para pembaca.
