Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain dan merancang ad-blocker agar bisa diterapkan di semua jaringan dan dapat memblok iklan dari halaman web, situs web apa pun. Dengan memanfaatkan Raspberry Pi yang sering disebut komputer kecil SoC (System on Chip) yang ditanamkan pada perangkat jaringan seperti router. Fungsinya merupakan sebagai pemblokir iklan dengan menggunakan software Pi-Hole yang diterapkan untuk menyaring halaman web yang sudah disetting terlebih dahulu domainnya. Sehingga setiap perangkat yang terhubung pada jaringan yang sudah dipasangkan Raspberry Pi dan sudah disetting sebagai ad-blocker seperti smartphone, laptop, PC maka setiap situs web yang dianggap tidak sesuai dengan yang dilegalkan di jaringan tersebut akan terblok dan tidak akan ditampilkan pada layar. Namun perangkat Raspberry Pi hanya berfungsi ketika perangkat Anda terhubung ke jaringan tempat Raspberry Pi berjalan. Sehingga lalulintas jaringan yang menggunakan Raspberry Pi bisa mengurangi latensi dan meningkatkan kecepatan penelusuran browser apa pun dengan memotong data ekstra iklan yang tidak layak untuk ditampilkan di halaman web. User juga dapat memilah situs web yang akan diblok dan data situs web yang tidak diblok menggunakan aplikasi Pi-Hole, menonaktifkan blok iklan atas situs web atau laman web tertentu.
