This book focuses on the low-frequency oscillation between EMUs and traction networks in high-speed Railways. As the power source of high-speed trains, the traction network's power performance directly affects the safe and stable operation of the train. However, the low-frequency oscillation between EMUs and traction networks will fluctuate voltage or current, resulting in poor power quality, electrical device failure, and even interruption of traction power. Therefore, it is important to reveal the mechanism of low-frequency oscillation and propose suppression strategies. This book systematically shows the newest research results of analysis and suppression of low-frequency oscillation between EMUs and traction networks in high-speed railways, especially in the modeling methods of vehicle-grid systems and suppression strategies for low-frequency oscillation. These methods or strategies can provide important references and help for researchers, scholars, and engineers on traction power technology in high-speed railways. The main contents include the overview of low-frequency oscillation between EMUs and traction networks, the introduction of main modeling methods for vehicle-grid systems, especially single-phase rectifiers, the line-side converter control algorithms in vehicles for the suppression of low-frequency oscillation, the traction substation power compensation strategies for the suppression of low-frequency oscillation, etc.

This is an open access book. The covid-19 pandemic today forces humans to do almost all activities from home. Consequently, inventions in many fields of engineering technology are needed to facilitate those activities. First, human activities mainly are based on information technology today and internet connection is very important. People generate, send, and receive data by their smartphones every time and everything is connected to the internet. Equipment becomes smarter to assist the owner. Second, People need powerful, efficient, and smart vehicles and machines in Industry 4.0. Third, the need for energy increases, which causes the decrease of global environmental quality. It needs new technology for saving energy by discovering new technologies in mechanical engineering. Fourth, many technologies emerge as disaster prevention by developing innovations in civil engineering and architecture. The Engineering Faculty of University of Mataram invites engineers and researchers around the world to visit Lombok island and to attend the valuable multi fields conference on science and engineering named “The First Mandalika International Multi-conference on Science and Engineering 2022′′ or “1st MIMSE 2022”. This fruitful event will be the annual conference in Lombok island which is supported by the West Nusa Tenggara Province government. Initially, the 1st MIMSE 2022 consisted of 5 engineering fields are Civil, Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, and Informatics Engineering.

Electromagnetic Compatibility In Railways written by Ade Ogunsola and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

A railway is a complex distributed engineering system: the construction of a new railway or the modernisation of a existing one requires a deep understanding of the constitutive components and their interaction, inside the system itself and towards the outside world. The former covers the various subsystems (featuring a complex mix of high power sources, sensitive safety critical systems, intentional transmitters, etc.) and their interaction, including the specific functions and their relevance to safety. The latter represents all the additional possible external victims and sources of electromagnetic interaction. EMC thus starts from a comprehension of the emissions and immunity characteristics and the interactions between sources and victims, with a strong relationship to electromagnetics and to system modeling. On the other hand, the said functions are achieved and preserved and their relevance for safety is adequately handled, if the related requirements are well posed andmanaged throughout the process from the beginning. The link is represented by standards and their correct application, as a support to analysis, testing and demonstration.

Vehicle Track Coupled Dynamics written by Wanming Zhai and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book systematically presents the theory, numerical implementation, field experiments and practical engineering applications of the ‘Vehicle–Track Coupled Dynamics’. Representing a radical departure from classic vehicle system dynamics and track dynamics, the vehicle–track coupled dynamics theory considers the vehicle and track as one interactive and integrated system coupled through wheel–rail interaction. This new theory enables a more comprehensive and accurate solution to the train–track dynamic interaction problem which is a fundamental and important research topic in railway transportation system, especially for the rapidly developed high-speed and heavy-haul railways. It has been widely applied in practical railway engineering. Dr. Wanming Zhai is a Chair Professor of Railway Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, where he is also chairman of the Academic Committee and Director of the Train and Track Research Institute. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and one of the leading scientists in railway system dynamics. Professor Zhai is Editor-in-Chief of both the International Journal of Rail Transportation, published by Taylor & Francis Group, and the Journal of Modern Transportation, published by Springer. In addition, he is a trustee of the International Association for Vehicle System Dynamics, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and Vice President of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering. /div
