Singular time-delay systems are very suitable to describe a lot of practical systems such as manufacturing systems, networked control systems, power systems and electrical circuits. Thus, the past two decades have witnessed a significant progress on the theory of singular time-delay systems, and many fundamental and important topics have been successfully investigated including stability analysis, stabilization, guaranteed cost control, filtering, observer design, sliding mode control and so on. The main objective of this book is to present the latest developments and references in the analysis and synthesis of singular time-delay systems with or without Markov jumping parameters in a unified framework. The materials adopted in this book are mainly based on research results of the authors. This book will be of interest to academic researchers working in singular systems, time-delay systems and Markov jump systems and to graduate students interested in systems and control theory.

In many practical applications we deal with a wide class of dynamical systems that are comprised of a family of continuous-time or discrete-time subsystems and a rule orchestrating the switching between the subsystems. This class of systems is frequently called switched system. Switched linear systems provide a framework that bridges the linear systems and the complex and/or uncertain systems. The mo- vation for investigating this class of systems is twofold: ?rst, it has an inherent multi-modal behavior in the sense that several dynamical subsystems are required to describe their behavior, which might depend on various environmental factors. Second, the methods of intelligent control systems are based on the idea of swit- ing between different controllers. Looked at in this light, switched systems provide an integral framework to deal with complex system behaviors such as chaos and multiple limit cycles and gain more insights into powerful tools such as intelligent control, adaptive control, and robust control. Switched systems have been inves- gated for a long time in the control and systems literature and have increasingly attracted more attention for the past three decades. The number of journal articles, books, and conference papers have grown exponentially and a number of fundam- tal concepts and powerful tools have been developed. It has been pointed out that switched systems have been studied from various viewpoints.

This book introduces a new set of orthogonal hybrid functions (HF) which approximates time functions in a piecewise linear manner which is very suitable for practical applications. The book presents an analysis of different systems namely, time-invariant system, time-varying system, multi-delay systems---both homogeneous and non-homogeneous type- and the solutions are obtained in the form of discrete samples. The book also investigates system identification problems for many of the above systems. The book is spread over 15 chapters and contains 180 black and white figures, 18 colour figures, 85 tables and 56 illustrative examples. MATLAB codes for many such examples are included at the end of the book.

Sliding Mode Control Of Uncertain Parameter Switching Hybrid Systems written by Ligang Wu and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In control theory, sliding mode control (SMC) is a nonlinear control method that alters the dynamics of a nonlinear system by application of a discontinuous control signal that forces the system to slide along a cross-section of the system's normal behaviour. In recent years, SMC has been successfully applied to a wide variety of practical engineering systems including robot manipulators, aircraft, underwater vehicles, spacecraft, flexible space structures, electrical motors, power systems, and automotive engines. Sliding Mode Control of Uncertain Parameter-Switching Hybrid Systems addresses the increasing demand for developing SMC technologies and comprehensively presents the new, state-of-the-art sliding mode control methodologies for uncertain parameter-switching hybrid systems. It establishes a unified framework for SMC of Markovian jump singular systems and proposes new SMC methodologies based on the analysis results. A series of problems are solved with new approaches for analysis and synthesis of switched hybrid systems, including stability analysis and stabilization, dynamic output feedback control, and SMC. A set of newly developed techniques (e.g. average dwell time, piecewise Lyapunov function, parameter-dependent Lyapunov function, cone complementary linearization) are exploited to handle the emerging mathematical/computational challenges. Key features: Covers new concepts, new models and new methodologies with theoretical significance in system analysis and control synthesis Includes recent advances in Markovian jump systems, switched hybrid systems, singular systems, stochastic systems and time-delay systems Includes solved problems Introduces advanced techniques Sliding Mode Control of Uncertain Parameter-Switching Hybrid Systems is a comprehensive reference for researchers and practitioners working in control engineering, system sciences and applied mathematics, and is also a useful source of information for senior undergraduate and graduates studying in these areas.

This book proposes analysis and design techniques for Markov jump systems (MJSs) using Lyapunov function and sliding mode control techniques. It covers a range of topics including stochastic stability, finite-time boundedness, actuator-fault problem, bumpless transfer scheme, and adaptive sliding mode fault-tolerant control for uncertain MJSs. Notably, the book presents a new model for deception attacks (DAs), establishing the correlation between attacks and time delays, which should be of particular interest due to the recent increase in such attacks. The book's content is presented in a comprehensive, progressive manner, with fundamental principles introduced first before addressing more advanced techniques. The book features illustrations and tables, providing readers with a practical and intuitive approach to applying these methods in their own research. This book will prove invaluable to researchers and graduate students in control engineering and applied mathematics with an interest in the latest developments in MJSs.
