Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Controlling ist aus dem Wirtschaftsleben nicht mehr wegzudenken. In jedem größeren Unternehmen, das sich längerfristig am Markt halten will, gibt es mittlerweile eine Controlling-Abteilung. Nur in Kleinbetriebe ist das Controlling bisher noch nicht unbedingt vorgedrungen. Kleinhandwerker und Kleingewerbetreibende setzen oft keine geeigneten bzw. gar keine Controlling- und Steuerungsinstrumente ein. Controlling-Instrumente können aber auch die Führung von Kleinbetrieben erheblich erleichtern und verbessern. Deshalb ist Controlling auch im Kleinbetrieb eine Notwendigkeit, um wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Die Aktualität des Themas wird z.B. durch die laufenden Diskussionen rund um Basel II deutlich. Ein gutes und aktuelles Informations- und Rechnungswesen sowie ein Controlling kann durchaus dazu beitragen, im Zusammenhang mit Basel II ein besseres Rating und somit bessere Kreditkonditionen zu erhalten. Dies ist besonders für Kleinbetriebe, die in der Regel wesentlich von der Bank als Fremdkapitalgeber abhängig sind, von Bedeutung. Gang der Untersuchung: Die Arbeit stellt die Frage nach den Anforderungen an ein angewandtes EDV-gestütztes Controlling im Kleingewerbe und Kleinhandwerk. Zu diesem Zweck wird in einem ersten theoretischen Teil auf die Besonderheiten des Controlling im Kleinbetrieb eingegangen. Als Ergebnis dieses Teils wird ein Mindestsystem für ein Controlling im Kleingewerbe und Kleinhandwerk vorgeschlagen. In einem zweiten Teil werden die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Untersuchung, die sowohl Gespräche mit Kleinunternehmern als auch Interviews mit Unternehmensberatern beinhaltet, präsentiert. Diese Untersuchung soll aufzeigen, wie Controlling bisher in Kleinbetrieben eingesetzt und auch EDV-mäßig unterstützt wird. Zusätzlich wird aber auch herausgearbeitet, welche Instrumente einer Controlling-Software aus der Sicht der Kleinunternehmer interessant wären. Dieser Teil soll vor allem Informationen für die Entwicklung von geeigneter Software liefern. Obwohl die in die empirische Untersuchung einbezogenen Unternehmen regional auf Tirol beschränkt sind, sind die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung aufgrund der nahezu identischen Wirtschaftsstruktur im gesamten Gebiet der Europäischen Union anwendbar. Companies face a variety of risks resulting from cost reduction strategies, rationalization measures, global sourcing, and outsourcing activities. Due to the large number of actors involved, extremely close ties emerge, which significantly increase supply chains’ vulnerability to disruptions – this has been shown again and again in the past few years. Against this background, the aspect of supply continuity is of increasing importance for all activities that relate to procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. Its objective is to ensure the continuous operation of supply chains, i.e., the uninterrupted flow of material, information, and coordination from the initial supplier to the end customer. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt adequate measures that take into consideration not only potential losses but also potential gains (so-called speculative risks). With this book, the concept of Supply Chain Safety Management is introduced. The concept itself is embedded in a comprehensive and dynamic management process. Depending on a supply chain’s individual objectives, a set of courses of action is offered for any risk factors – whether they are identifiable and quantifiable or not. The practicability of Supply Chain Safety Management is highlighted by various case studies. The book “Supply Chain Safety Management: Achieving Security and Robustness in Logistics” targets both the areas of science and of practice. First, the state of the art in research is reflected and valuable impulses for new and respectively for further research fields are provided by taking into consideration the points of view of scientists and practitioners in the business environment.
