Biotechnology is a highly multidisciplinary subject and has got its foundation in many fields including biology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, chemistry and chemical and processing engineering. Application of biotechnology in medicine and agriculture has been a recent phenomenon. There is an increasing need to train manpower in animal biotechnology.
