Anna durft bijna niemand te vertrouwen. Ook mevrouw Neumann niet. Tot ze het verhaal hoort over haar verdwenen dochtertje. Dan neemt Anna een besluit: Fannie moet gevonden worden! Ida Vos kreeg bekendheid als jeugdboekenschrijfster met Wie niet weg is wordt gezien, waarin ze vertelt over de tijd dat ze zelf was ondergedoken. Ook Anna is er nog is gebaseerd op de werkelijkheid. De gebeurtenissen die worden beschreven heeft Ida zelf meegemaakt of van andere mensen gehoord.

How should Holocaust Studies integrate discourse about children's literature into its discussions?
