Il mondo cambia come i disegni in un caleidoscopio: le tendenze si espandono, si contraggono, si disgregano e svaniscono, mentre altre si formano. Il cambiamento – non la stasi – è la costante della nostra vita. Ecco allora la necessità di predisporre strumenti per permettere alle organizzazioni di convivere con il cambiamento e navigare nella complessità. Dobbiamo accettare il cambiamento continuo e il necessario cambio di prospettiva: interconnessione contro separazione, esponenzialità contro linearità, discontinuità contro continuità. Per anticipare il futuro sono necessari approcci avanzati che vadano oltre i tradizionali modelli di previsione (forecast) basati sulla proiezione in avanti delle esperienze passate. Questi metodi avanzati, cosiddetti di anticipazione (foresight), costruiscono scenari possibili considerando la molteplicità dei presenti, i segnali deboli, i trend emergenti e i percorsi possibili di evoluzione. Nel libro vengono presentati i due pilastri su cui si basa il foresight: l’organizzazione e la gestione. Sul piano organizzativo, si propone la separazione della Ricerca (orientata al mercato del futuro) dallo Sviluppo (orientato al mercato di oggi), l’istituzione di un’unità di Foresight e l’organizzazione delle attività di Ricerca in via prevalente come connessione di conoscenze esterne. Sul piano gestionale – dopo una carrellata sulle metodologie di anticipazione in letteratura – si propone una metodologia, denominata di “copertura del futuro”, che permette di verificare la coerenza tra trend, visione strategica e prodotti offerti. Gli strumenti proposti sono quindi testati presso la Eurotech SpA di Amaro (UD), azienda leader nel settore dell’ICT. Dedicato agli uomini e alle donne che hanno il futuro nel sangue.
