Um tributo ao nobilíssimo poeta, editor e crítico literário Edgar Allan Poe requer demasiada responsabilidade, visto que o astro é detentor de uma grande sapiência, fator que pode ser facilmente verificado nos seus ensaios, prosa e poética. Poe foi um indivíduo que teve a morte como sua leal companheira. Quando Poe discorre acerca da feitura do seu ilustre poema The Raven no ensaio “A Filosofia da Composição”, ele alega haver feito um autoquestionamento sobre qual seria o tema mais melancólico e poético, universalmente falando; à pergunta, ele concluiu com a seguinte resolução: a morte de uma mulher bonita é, inquestionavelmente, o tema mais poético do mundo, e também não há dúvida de que os lábios mais adequados para este tema são os de um amante enlutado. Talvez, e somente talvez, o eu lírico de Edgar suscitasse do seu âmago a imagem da sua adorada companheira Virginia Eliza Clemm Poe, que Finou-se ainda jovem, deixando-o refém do luto já conhecido, afinal, Poe ficou órfão de mãe quando era apenas um garoto. Visando enaltecer o artista que concebeu a sua arte com exímia perfeição ignorando toda a dor intrincada no seu caminhar, a antologia intitulada “Nevermore – In Memoriam de Edgar Allan Poe (1809 – 1849)” ganhou vida. Mais de quarenta autoras e autores tiveram os seus textos selecionados para compor esta importante obra que versa acerca da melancolia e a obscura desilusão embebidas nos subgêneros terror e suspense, proseados e versados por grandes artistas das letras da literatura brasileira e estrangeira.
