The reporters and columnists of the Pauliapolis Sentinel fret over the implications for them personally of the managements employment of a market research firm. Their concern is that main stream reader interests will favor the scores of the writers of some subjects. Sports columnist Abe Fuller asserts that reader preoccupation with politics makes it easy to write about politics acceptably. Political columnist Adele Freedman responds that sports writing has the easiest to impress readership of all. The disagreement leads to a wager. Each columnist will write the others columns under the others byline for the two weeks of the market research. Whoever gets the higher ratings writing as the other person will receive a weeks midwinter vacation in the Caribbean at the expense of the loser. During the market survey, the paper receives a confidential report of a local scandal involving both politics and pro sports. Assigned to investigate the story, the two competing columnists uncover complications that change the outcome of their wager and their feelings about each other.

Authors Jennifer Axen and Leigh Phillips have written this comprehensive, how-to manual for all the smart, capable women who are sick and tired of being laughed at for not knowing which way is North, intimidated by the finer points of grilling, or just plain excluded for not knowing the (let's face it, very convoluted) infield fly rule. So, for the women out there who know they can do it betterjust as soon as they learn howhelp is finally at hand!

For Surveys of Musical Theater, Music Appreciation courses and Popular Culture Surveys. This unique historical survey illustrates the interaction of multiple artistic and dramatic considerations with an overview of the development of numerous popular musical theater genres. This introduction provides more than a history of musical theater, it studies the music within the shows to provide an understanding of the contributions of musical theater composers as clearly as the artistry of musical theater lyricists and librettists. The familiarity of the musical helps students understand how music functions in a song and a show, while giving them the vocabulary to discuss their perceptions.

The fast-paced, unpredictable, and high-risk nature of crisis intervention creates critical ethical dilemmas that can result in personal harm and professional liability if not handled appropriately. Applying a traditional model of ethical decision-making is often impractical when time is limite and decisions must be made quickly. This counseling tool kit offers a new operational approach for integrating ethical decision-making in crisis intervention. Following detailed discussions of crisis intervention within the framework of realtional-cultural theory, a triage assessment system, and an original ethical decision-making protocol, nine diverse case studies in hospital, telebehavioral health, school, clinical, and public settings are presented. Students and practitioners will build a repertoire of ethical decision-making skills to de-escalae crisis incidents and provide an appropriate level of support to individuals experiencing crisis. *Requests for digital versions from ACA can be found on www.wiley.com *To purchase print copies, please visit the ACA website *Reproduction requests for material from books published by ACA should be directed to [email protected]
