Aphesis written by Treydon Cruz Lunot and has been published by Independently Published this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-30 with categories.

In his first major work of philosophy, Treydon Lunot tackles the question of subjectivity, closely examining the various paradoxical features, necessities, and impossibilities that lie at the heart of the subject. In opposition to modern and postmodern attempts to do away with the subject through the embrace of impersonal chaos and multiplicity, Lunot follows in the steps of German Idealism and its modern successors (such as Slavoj Zizek and Dieter Henrich) by asserting its centrality as the 'self-relating negative' that is radically closed off from the world. Touching on topics such as the death of God, the movement of history, Nietzscheanism, and Christianity, Lunot journeys through various thinkers and ideas with the expressed goal of shedding light on the nature of subjectivity. After coming to the conclusion that the subject is internally inconsistent, barred from itself and the world, and that 'no one gets to heaven', Lunot finally poses the question: is it possible to attain salvation?

Pidgins And Creoles Volume 1 Theory And Structure written by John A. Holm and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1988-05-05 with Foreign Language Study categories.

This first volume of Holm's major survey of pidgins and creoles provides an up-to-date and readable introduction to a field of study that has become established only in the past few decades. Written for both students and general readers with a basic knowledge of linguistics, the book's original perspective will also attract specialists in the field seeking a broad overview of the linguistic relationships among these languages. Creolized, or restructured versions of English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portugese, and other languages arose during European colonial expansion. These resulted in such creoles as Jamaican, Haitian, Papiamentu, and some one hundred others, as well as such semi-creoles as Afrikaans, non-standard Brazilian Portugese, Papiamentu, and American Black English. Scholars have tended to work on particular language varieties in relative isolation, making comparative research into the genesis, development, and structure of creoles difficult. In writing this book, Holm draws on broad studies of many languages to make clear how far-reaching creoles'similarities are and to challenge current linguistic theories on creoles and pidgins. The emphasis of this volume is largely empirical rather than descriptive. Its core is a comparative study of creoles based on European languages in Africa and the Caribbean that demonstrates the striking similarities among the languages in terms of their lexical semantics, phonology, and syntax. A forthcoming volume provides a socio-historic overview of variety development and text examples, with translations, of the restructured languages.

No, Jesus did not die to purchase forgiveness from God or so that God could love you once again. God has always loved and always forgiven you for all your sins. By reading this book, you will learn why Jesus died, and what His death means. In the process, you will learn to see God, Scripture, yourself, and humanity in a whole new light. Hopefully, you will also learn to live in a whole new way. The book begins with a short explanation of the various views of the atonement, including an explanation and defense of the "Non-Violent View" of the atonement. This view argues that God did not need or demand the death of Jesus in order to forgive sins. In fact, God has never been angry with us at all, but has always loved and always forgiven. Following this explanation of the atonement, J. D. Myers takes you on a journey through 10 areas of theology which are radically changed and transformed by the Non-Violent view of the atonement. The ten areas that you will understand in a whole new way are: 1. The Life of Jesus Christ 2. God 3. Scripture 4. Sacrifice 5. Humanity 6. Sin 7. Forgiveness 8. Justice 9. Violence 10. Peace Read this book, and let your life and theology look more and more like Jesus Christ!

Ancient Forgiveness written by Charles L. Griswold and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with History categories.

In this book, eminent scholars of classical antiquity and ancient and medieval Judaism and Christianity explore the nature and place of forgiveness in the pre-modern Western world. They discuss whether the concept of forgiveness, as it is often understood today, was absent, or at all events more restricted in scope than has been commonly supposed, and what related ideas (such as clemency or reconciliation) may have taken the place of forgiveness. An introductory chapter reviews the conceptual territory of forgiveness and illuminates the potential breadth of the idea, enumerating the important questions a theory of the subject should explore. The following chapters examine forgiveness in the contexts of classical Greece and Rome; the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud, and Moses Maimonides; and the New Testament, the Church Fathers, and Thomas Aquinas.
