Tema buku ini adalah pengetahuan tentang teknologi torefaksi yang berkenaan dengan perbaikan energi suatu bahan biomassa menggunakan pemanas microwave. Biomassa merupakan salah satu sumber energi yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai alternatif bagi energi fosil yang mahal, langkah, dan merusak lingkungan. Meskipun nilai kalor biomassa cukup rendah, tetapi biomassa ini cukup potensial karena keberadaannya melimpah dan dapat diperbaharui sehingga diperlukan suatu teknologi yang dapat meningkatkan nilai kalornya setingkat nilai kalor batubara yaitu teknologi torefaksi. Proses pembakaran gabungan biomassa dan batubara (cofiring) dipercaya menghasilkan pembakaran yang lebih baik dengan emisi gas yang rendah dibanding pembakaran batu bara murni. Torefaksi biomassa telah berkembang pesat untuk mendukung kebutuhan bahan bakar biomassa yang disubstitusikan ke batu bara untuk kebutuhan industri pembangkit tenaga listrik atau kebutuhan energi domestik. Torefaksi biomassa dengan pemanas microwave memiliki keunggulan dalam meningkatkan nilai kalor biomassa akibat sifat pemanasan langsung, seragam dan sangat cepat dari iradiasi microwave. Pemanasan ini mampu mengeluarkan kandungan uap air bebas dan terikat dari biomassa serta memperbaiki nilai kalor dan sifat fisik lainnya seperti kemudahan giling, tahan kelembaban air (Hydrophobic), dan mudah dikompaksi menjadi briket berkualitas. Buku ini membahas metode pemanasan microwave secara mendalam sehingga pembaca buku ini akan memahami secara baik sistem pemanasan microwave terutama dalam aplikasi torefaksi biomassa. Tahapan proses torefaksi dijelaskan secara rinci sehingga dapat membantu pembaca memahami proses perbaikan energi melalui torefaksi dengan microwave ini. Sehingga diharapkan teknologi torefaksi microwave dapat membantu pemerintah dalam mencapai kemandirian energi dengan memanfaatkan biomassa.

Steel and its Heat Treatment: Bofors Handbook describes the fundamental metallographic concepts, materials testing, hardenability, heat treatment, and dimensional changes that occur during the hardening and tempering stages of steel. The book explains the boundaries separating the grain contents of steel, which are the low-angle grain boundaries, the high-angle grain boundaries, and the twinning boundaries. Engineers can determine the hardenability of steel through the Grossman test or the Jominy End-Quench test. Special hardening and tempering methods are employed for steel that are going to be fabricated into tools. The different methods of hardening are manual hardening for a small surface (the tip of a screw); spin hardening for objects with a rotational symmetry (gears with 5 modules or less); and progressive hardening (or a combination with spin hardening) for flat surfaces. The hardening and tempering processes cause changes in size and shape of the substance. The text presents examples of dimensional changes during the hardening and tempering of tool steels such as those occurring in plain-carbon steels and low-alloy steels. The book is a source of reliable information needed by engineers, tool and small equipment designers, as well as by metallurgists, structural, and mechanical engineers.

We are delighted to introduce the Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Progressive Education (ICOPE) 2020 hosted by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lampung, Indonesia, in the heart of the city Bandar Lampung on 16 and 17 October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we took a model of an online organised event via Zoom. The theme of the 2nd ICOPE 2020 was “Exploring the New Era of Education”, with various related topics including Science Education, Technology and Learning Innovation, Social and Humanities Education, Education Management, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Teacher Professional Development, Curriculum and Instructions, Assessment and Evaluation, and Environmental Education. This conference has invited academics, researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students worldwide to participate and exchange ideas, experiences, and research findings in the field of education to make a better, more efficient, and impactful teaching and learning. This conference was attended by 190 participants and 160 presenters. Four keynote papers were delivered at the conference; the first two papers were delivered by Prof Emeritus Stephen D. Krashen from the University of Southern California, the USA and Prof Dr Bujang Rahman, M.Si. from Universitas Lampung, Indonesia. The second two papers were presented by Prof Dr Habil Andrea Bencsik from the University of Pannonia, Hungary and Dr Hisham bin Dzakiria from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Malaysia. In addition, a total of 160 papers were also presented by registered presenters in the parallel sessions of the conference. The conference represents the efforts of many individuals. Coordination with the steering chairs was essential for the success of the conference. We sincerely appreciate their constant support and guidance. We would also like to express our gratitude to the organising committee members for putting much effort into ensuring the success of the day-to-day operation of the conference and the reviewers for their hard work in reviewing submissions. We also thank the four invited keynote speakers for sharing their insights. Finally, the conference would not be possible without the excellent papers contributed by authors. We thank all authors for their contributions and participation in the 2nd ICOPE 2020. We strongly believe that the 2nd ICOPE 2020 has provided a good forum for academics, researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students to address all aspects of education-related issues in the current educational situation.
