Poetry. Literary Nonfiction. Memoir. "What a powerful little volume Osing has put together. The personal essays--eccentricand lovingly conceived and penned. There used to be a whole lot more of this kind of delicacy in American literature. I'm thinking Edward Dahlberg, Kenneth Rexroth, the youthful William Saroyan. These essays gleaned from journals cross over into poetry and the poems circle back into the notions and experiences Osing so tauntingly captures in exciting prose. No sojourn into cultural and intimate geography will ever be quite the same for me"--Al Young.

This revelatory project carries on from earlier ones of a similar aphoristic nature by the author the task of highlighting the axial distinctions between Social Theocracy and Social Democracy, and is more terminologically exacting than ever before, with what Mr O'Loughlin holds to be well-nigh irrefutable conclusions.

Recomposing Ecopoetics written by Lynn Keller and has been published by University of Virginia Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-01-16 with Literary Criticism categories.

In the first book devoted exclusively to the ecopoetics of the twenty-first century, Lynn Keller examines poetry of what she terms the "self-conscious Anthropocene," a period in which there is widespread awareness of the scale and severity of human effects on the planet. Recomposing Ecopoetics analyzes work written since the year 2000 by thirteen North American poets--including Evelyn Reilly, Juliana Spahr, Ed Roberson, and Jena Osman--all of whom push the bounds of literary convention as they seek forms and language adequate to complex environmental problems. Drawing as often on linguistic experimentalism as on traditional literary resources, these poets respond to environments transformed by people and take "nature" to be a far more inclusive and culturally imbricated category than conventional nature poetry does. This interdisciplinary study not only brings cutting-edge work in ecocriticism to bear on a diverse archive of contemporary environmental poetry; it also offers the environmental humanities new ways to understand the cultural and affective dimensions of the Anthropocene.

Presents thirty novel terms that do not yet exist in English to envision ways of responding to the environmental challenges of our generation As the scale and gravity of climate change becomes undeniable, a cultural revolution must ultimately match progress in the realms of policy, infrastructure, and technology. Proceeding from the notion that dominant Western cultures lack the terms and concepts to describe or respond to our environmental crisis, An Ecotopian Lexicon is a collaborative volume of short, engaging essays that offer ecologically productive terms—drawn from other languages, science fiction, and subcultures of resistance—to envision and inspire responses and alternatives to fossil-fueled neoliberal capitalism. Each of the thirty suggested “loanwords” helps us imagine how to adapt and even flourish in the face of the socioecological adversity that characterizes the present moment and the future that awaits. From “Apocalypso” to “Qi,” “ ~*~ “ to “Total Liberation,” thirty authors from a range of disciplines and backgrounds assemble a grounded yet dizzying lexicon, expanding the limited European and North American conceptual lexicon that many activists, educators, scholars, students, and citizens have inherited. Fourteen artists from eleven countries respond to these chapters with original artwork that illustrates the contours of the possible better worlds and worldviews.
