La valutazione, in un quadro complesso inerente la didattica delle attività motorie, si presenta come un iter articolato che deve inevitabilmente esaminare la pluralità dei fenomeni congiunti all’educazione motoria, data l’interdipendenza reciproca tra i processi valutativi e la didattica del movimento. La struttura docimologica delle attività di movimento nella scuola dell’infanzia e nella scuola primaria, oltre a includere tutta la complessità del sistema didattico – organizzativo della scuola italiana, deve afferrare la prosperità dell’esperienza senso – motoria nel periodo sia dell’infanzia che della preadolescenza. Nel valutare attività didattiche volte a incoraggiare apprendimenti motori, o che utilizzino esperienze motorie per agevolare i processi di apprendimento, non si possono semplicemente assumere metodologie e protocolli quantitativi o qualitativi propri dell’ambito motorio – sportivo e trasferirli nei contesti educativi, in quanto l’atto valutativo risulterebbe depauperato dal giudizio dei significati che l’esperienza motoria può assumere nel processo di insegnamento – apprendimento. La contestualizzazione, invece, può consentire alla valutazione motoria di assumere un carattere ecologico, assegnando alle proposte didattiche una maggiore originalità e unione con i vari contesti di azione. Tale modello potenzia l’aspetto formativo della valutazione tramite modalità di indagine che si distanziano dalla valutazione del prodotto, disegnato dall’esecuzione del compito motorio, e si basano primariamente sui processi psicomotori attivati dal discente. L’utilizzo di strumenti e metodologie di valutazione motoria, dunque, deve inevitabilmente fondersi ai vincoli ambientali, culturali, organizzativi e didattici della scuola, nonché risultare coesa e funzionale all’offerta formativa.

This book provides comprehensive coverage of current topics in idiopathic scoliosis (IS). A three-dimensional deformity of the spine, the condition is characterized by lateral curvature combined with vertebral rotation. The primary lesion, however, lies in the median sagittal plane, taking the form of a lordosis. Although the clinical manifestations of scoliosis have been well documented, its cause and pathogenesis have not yet been determined. Research into what causes IS has focused on the structural elements of the spine, spinal musculature, collagenous structures, the endocrine system, the central nervous system, and genetics. Results of these studies have brought about a new perception of IS epiphenomena, but the main cause of IS remains unknown. Recently, several investigators have produced new hypotheses regarding the cause of IS using the developing techniques of genetics, biochemistry, and neurology. This book is a review of the various causative factors thus far proposed for IS and an introduction to the directions in which research is heading to determine the primary cause of IS.
