Aprender e ensinar Geografia na sociedade tecnológica: possibilidades e limitações é um livro que surge a partir de pesquisa de doutorado conduzida com o propósito de compreender como o uso das tecnologias digitais pode contribuir na construção do conhecimento geográfico pelos estudantes, de modo a estimulá-los ao protagonismo juvenil. O cenário da pesquisa é composto por três escolas públicas estaduais localizadas em um município do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. A partir do contexto social em que estamos inseridos, onde os recursos tecnológicos permeiam a vida em sociedade, e considerando a potencialidade do uso das tecnologias digitais nas aulas, trabalho o princípio de que a compreensão dos conteúdos de Geografia pelos estudantes, mediada pelos recursos disponíveis nas tecnologias digitais, permite melhor percepção da realidade potencializando o protagonismo do jovem na relação com o conhecimento, em comparação às aulas nas quais as tecnologias digitais não são utilizadas. Para dar conta de explicar essa questão apresento um aporte teórico como base nas teorias da aprendizagem e do conhecimento; no ensino de Geografia; no letramento digital dos professores para o uso das tecnologias digitais em suas aulas e também as metodologias de ensino mediadas pelas tecnologias digitais. Este livro é dedicado aos atuais e aos futuros professores, não só de Geografia, mas todos os que buscam métodos diferenciados para trabalhar com as tecnologias digitais da informação e comunicação – TDIC, em sala de aula.
